LadyMilla
It's a pity that certain mods do not fit into any of the listed categories, e.g. there is no 'Race', 'Pose' or 'New Quests' category on FO3nexus, which makes it difficult to properly tag some of the mods. Pushkatu
@Lady: I know what you mean, but that will complicate things to much. Imagine having a category for every posible function that a mod could have. We'll end up having 1000 categories with just a few mods in each. People are uploading mods in the wrong categories even now, I think that having more will only make things worse for them. I agree it could also have some benefits, but I don't know if they are worth the effort. Mayby the Nexus sites that will be "released" in the future could have more, from the start when there are few mods to sort.
Deleted1744345User
Very cool, I was wondering at first why the tag button was red. The activity point bonus will definitely be an incentive and boost the number of tagged files.
LadyMilla
@Pushkatu:Complicate? Right now the lack of certain categories makes it even more complicated. Let's say you create a playable raider or mutant race, using vanilla models, how would you categorize it? New models? No. Gameplay effects and changes? Maybe, but that would put that raider race mod into the same category as e.g. FWE. Or what about 'A Quest for Heaven', a new series of quests by firelady? Right now it is tagged Audio - Music, Language - English and Lore-friendly, but those tags do not tell you what that mod really is - an addition to one of the basic features of the game, that is, the quests that make up the story. I think before promoting the use of tags, it would be reasonable to make sure that search by tags produces meaningful results. At the moment, if I want to look up adventure/quest mods on FO3nexus, I need to use File search or Advanced search. This is why I completely ignore the search by tags feature - usually I get better results by entering a few carefully selected search phrases into the 'Description contains' or 'File name contains' field. Quests, Non-player Characters, Race, Factions, Armor, Weapon, Effects, Worldspace, etc are 'root' categories in GECK - I think it is only logical to pick some of these categories to describe the mods on these sites. After all, these are the things they change or add.
Pushkatu
You might be right, but still each member has a different way of using these sites. I think we could debate around this subject for a long time so I won't disagree to what you say. I just can't stop thinking about the fact that at least for TESNexus there are large amount of files that would need to be sorted again. I have browsed all the categories more than once and I've seen mods uploaded in a category that has nothing to do with what that mod does. Anyway, I think that even if it will be done at some point, it will be a pain until they'll manage to sort the files again. Mayby if there's like a easy way to do it, but I can't think of any. Once again I think your point of view makes sense, but I cannot imagine an easy way to do it, then again mayby the hard way is the right way to do this heh. :D (I need to rethink this when I've rested enough, my post is mayby not that explicit, sorry about that)
TacticalAce
I've actually made a post in the forums and they spoke about tags. I'll check it out to see whats up. Just got to find where to tag search lol.

I don't see a Race category, but there is Poses and Quests and Adventures on FO3Nexus for the latter two examples you give; TESNexus and DANexus do have race categories as well as the others.
