Grogrokl
BOSS sorts UUF3P - FWE Patch.esp below FO3 Wanderers Edition - DLC Mothership Zeta.esp. LOOT sorts it above. Its important to use the correct load order here since they have a conflicting script. This cannot be fixed by bashed patch and you have to make a choice here which script to use. What is the right load order here? Edited July 6, 2015 by Grogrokl
Grogrokl
It would make sense to place UUF3P - FWE Patch.esp below because it is a patch for FWE and not the other way around. But on the other hand LOOT doesn't do so and it is said to be the most updated... Edited July 6, 2015 by Grogrokl
Grogrokl
There would be absolute no reason for UUF3P - FWE Patch.esp to edit this script if it wasn't supposed to be below. Why? Because the Updated Unofficial Patch (which UUF3P - FWE Patch.esp is part of) has all DLCs as masters and therefore it is implied that FO3 Wanderers Edition - DLC Mothership Zeta.esp is always in the load order. If UUF3P - FWE Patch.esp was meant to be placed above there would be absolutely no reason to edit this script since it would be immediately destroyed by FO3 Wanderers Edition - DLC Mothership Zeta.esp below. Therefore it can be concluded that UUF3P - FWE Patch.esp was meant to be below and that BOSS is correct and LOOT is incorrect.
M48A5
Compatibility patches must always load after the last mod they are patching. This is one of the failings of LOOT. I have seen a lot of load orders with compatibility patches arranged in random places in the load order.
Grogrokl
Yeah, in this case they were bothing changing a vanilla script and UUF3P - FWE Patch.esp doesn't have FO3 Wanderers Edition - DLC Mothership Zeta.esp as master so it wasn't totally obvious that LOOT was wrong. Arthmoor
If the master files are in the proper order in the patch file, LOOT should be handing this correctly. If it's not, that's something you should be reporting to them so they can fix it.
BlackRampage
The OP's right. That patch indeed doesn't have FO3 Wanderers Edition - DLC Mothership Zeta.esp. So, considering how LOOT determines load order, LOOT is actually right. What's the point of placing it below a file it doesn't have as master after all? The UUF3P - FWE does necessarily overwrite some of FO3 Wanderers Edition - DLC Mothership Zeta.esp records + the mentioned script though, so I guess it's better to add the aforementioned DLC patch as master to the UUF3P - FWE patch. Guess we missed that one, I've already sent an updated version of the patch to UUF3P's main author. Edit: It's gonna be in the next update.
