Same here, the maximum time i have is max 4 hours. I wouldn't be able to stand gaming that long. Fatigue and hunger kicking in.

Also impairs your gaming ability to, especially when you are seeing double lol.

Just by that alone its time to quite

I usually game at night, because I'm to busy in the afternoon most of the time.

I really hate to mention this but I have pushed up to the 36 hour mark a long while back but even then I took breaks for food, drink, and other body functions. Though I wouldn't have even attempted that naturally, I was cleaning up someone else mess they made back in Planetside (FPSRPGMMO, true persistant world). To put it mildly if I went off to get some sleep and came back in 8 hours our faction would have never recovered due to the inablity to get a foot hold. But that victory is one I will never forget, and the person that caused it I made sure no one would follow him in that game again. He eventually quite the game cause he couldn't even get people to join his squad that wheren't his fellow outfit members.

Oh god dont get me started on marathon gaming.

The long game is something I'm awefully good at.

See, one of my main specialities is driving games. And in driving games you'll usuauly, eventualy, find an endurance event. These super long races are usualy a few hours long real time, and are a tribute to one of the most classical forms of motorsport in the real world, enduro racing, when a team of drivers battles the track, fatigue, and other teams, for sometimes 48 hours at a time with no breaks and no downtime except for short, half hour luls between pitstops when those in the garage can partialy relax, such as the infamous, legendary 24 Hours Of Le Mans.

Many of these races are also held online, and some particularly masochistic cyber racers specialise as endurance drivers, who, rather than outright pace, instead pace themselves, and ensure that they finish first by actualy finishing. I am one such masochist, my all time record is an eight hour stint in an R-1 car in Forza Motorsport 3.

I started on saturday morning, and finished late that afternoonm, winning the race by a comfortable 16 minutes. Breaks? only in pitstops, and never for more than 90 seconds. Brutal? yes, fun? yes. Rewarding? well I still havent burned through the pixel prize money a full year and 51 exotic cars later.

As for marathons, I never do all nioght binges, long sessions yes, and often 4+ hour races on weekends, but even though I've got the experience to do long sessions, i really try to avoid them. If you want to do long gaming sessions, try a run once a week, being physicaly fit is a big help.

Huh great, they're gonna be blaming gaming for people dropping down dead now.

Sorry to use your post specifically, but I hate when people make that statement on a news article like this. The only thing anybody, including the media, is going to blame, is the person. Not gaming. People have been dropping dead after gaming for days on end for ages. Nobody blames the games. The media might be stupid, but they're not retarded. Thinking that games killed this guy is about as dim-witted as you'll get, yet every time an article like this surfaces, somebody seems to think games are going to be blamed. No.

This guy might as well have been reading books, or playing ping pong or having picnic the entire time, and he'd still have died. He died due to exhaustion and hunger/thirst. There's no way gaming can be linked to his death other than that it was the activity that lead to him not sleeping or eating. Nobody can blame the knife because the cook tripped and fell on it.

This is an attitude that I strongly despise, as it seems gamers have this habit of thinking somebody is going to blame their hobby for everything that goes wrong around it. Nobody isout to get the gamers, get used to that, The age of 'games cause violence' etc is long since past.

Ok people, let this be a warning to you all.

Stop what you are doing on your computer right now.

Go outside and soak in some sun rays like you are superman...make sure you jog while you do this to get your stamina up. Go to the gym (jog there) and trade in your fat cells for some muscles...then jog back home. Also, make sure you get a bladder pack which can be fixed on the back of your chair and make sure the straw-like end can reach your mouth. That way you never have to take your hands off the keyboard to obtain life-saving water. You can go for weeks without eating but you cannot live without water for more than 3 or 4 days. But who wants to game that long without snacks? Really? Stock up your desk with tons of nutragrain bars or diet shakes. The key is PREPARATION.

You've got 8 1/2 months before Skyrim arrives...so start getting into shape and preparing for a TES marathon...without dying because there might be a TES:VI...but there certainly will be a TES:V.5 (modded Skyrim)

And remember. Games don't kill people. People kill people (and in this sad case...himself)

LHammonds

I'mma start stocking up more towards November 8. I got it set for a preorder, and have the cash aside ready.

All I need to do is sledgehammer a leg to get more injury leave a couple days before release. :D

The media might be stupid, but they're not retarded.

I lol'd at this, yet beg to differ.
