Ghogiel
Well if she finds herself full of holes...oh well. Non participants are the only side who need protection from the madness of war. Let all them who take up arms fight it out if they so desire. Edited August 21, 2011 by Ghogiel
JimboUK
So does that mean the Rebels have pushed in to the Capitol then? They're right in the centre, Saif Gaddafi has been captured and his father is nowhere to be seen. There are celebrations throughout the city. marharth
Well the rebels won apparently. The big thing now is whats going to happen next. The U.N might push for ground troops. Congress might even push for ground troops. Edited August 22, 2011 by marharth
Ghogiel
If the fighting has ceased and there is no danger from civilian populations from being slaughtered... what else is there to do? Oh yeah, secure some resources and building contracts. I think it is time to walk away if it's 'over'.
HeyYou
If the fighting has ceased and there is no danger from civilian populations from being slaughtered... what else is there to do? Oh yeah, secure some resources and building contracts. I think it is time to walk away if it's 'over'. Nah, this is when the REAL fun begins. Now we get to give them billions in "aid", so that they can rebuild the stuff we helped them blow up.........
JimboUK
There is still fighting going on, they're putting up one hell of a last stand. Saif al Islam Gadaffi who was supposed to have been captured has given a statement outside the Rixos hotel looking very uncaptured and his brother who was definitely captured has escaped, it's going well.

Also take note that the rebels won't be able to have airstrikes in the city. They are pretty much on their own.
JimboUK
Russia Today have had some people on suggesting it could be a trap, the rebels could be stuck with their backs to the sea and no air cover. It's a risky strategy but Gaddafi must be getting desperate.

They have AT weapons and such because they raided some armory of the Libyan secret service or something like that. Don't remember the details, my brain's slightly shot today.
