A new Mod Kit just came out -- it hasn't been released officially, but you can find it in CDPR's forums:

http://forums.cdprojektred.com/threads/124971-Modkit-is-currently-broken?p=3098681&viewfull=1#post3098681

Mind you, it still has a few minor bugs, so that's probably why they have not released it. But the people in that thread have been discussing workarounds in the meantime. The issue seems to be mainly with Mod Kitchen, but it seems to be doing things well overall Edited by gildardo

@megafallout3fan: That's nonsense, CDPR's DLCs are not simplistic Bethesda-style DLCs, they involve tons of story and voice acting and gameplay -- actual worthwhile game content instead of just an excuse for a new weapon or armor or something. Their DLCs are not the sort of stuff that you download off Nexus.

I imagine CDPR didn't release REDKit 3 because it would have been a lot more man-hours of work to make it ready for wide release -- man-hours they instead wanted to devote to Cyberpunk, which is going to be EPIC btw.

If there is any dev that is truly on the side of gamers it is CDPR. Sometimes things just aren't feasible and as fans we should be understanding and give them the benefit of the doubt. And, frankly, I don't think Witcher is in desperate need of mods the way Skyrim is.

Amen to Gawdzila.
I love playing with textures, don't get me wrong, but as far as the game itself goes, Witcher does not need mods. I've never played a game so detailed and beautiful, with such a lush and heart wrenching story. However, Skyrim is just plain ugly. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love Skyrim's story. But without mods, it would have died long ago (Bethesda knows this, otherwise they wouldn't have released SSE). The Witcher shouldn't even be put into the same category, and even mentioning modding it to other people, they look at me like I'm crazy. CDPR knows they're the s#*!, so releasing more extensive modding tools just isn't their biggest concern, especially considering very few people would actually use it. In comparison to Beth's games, anyway. But that's just my opinion.
I'd love to see a better modding tools, seeing as these don't work for me. But I'm not going to attack CDPR just because they have bigger concerns than the modding community. They created incredible games, with an incredible gaming engine. I highly doubt anyone who's played the games will disagree with me there.

We should just be happy they did this much.
