DarkFairy003
Sometimes I get bored with my character and want to start anew. Sometimes my game bogs up and I have to start from scratch anyway... And nothing irritates me more than having to do the Main Quest all over AGAIN. I know I could download a save file with the MQ completed; but most of the time that player levels in a way, or completes quests with gameplay decisions I don't agree with. Many saves I've tried have also conflicted with Perma. Several of the mods I play with also demand a NEW save game- Legacy of the Dragonborn in particular. I would LOVE a mod that made it possible to skip the MQ entirely (edit: after Alduin is defeated). Perhaps a script that went through all the quest stages and marked them as completed, and adding the necessary quest rewards (spells/weapons) to the pc's inventory? Maybe other questlines as well? Might be possible. Edited November 8, 2015 by DarkFairy003
IsharaMeradin
Right there linked on the Legacy of the Dragonborn page is Alternate Start - Live another Life. You can start out directly as a Relic Hunter for LotB by using the option to arrive by ship and start in Solitude. The main quest isn't completed but you don't have to start it if you don't wish. DarkFairy003
I already use Alternate Start. I'm just hoping for a mod that lets me skip the MQ.
Boombro
Skyrim unbound let you skip the wagon start, bleak falls borrow and the first dragon near the watch tower. To start the main quest, you have toggle dragon souls absorb in the mcm and kill a dragon, then the grey beards will call you. Skipping the least fun part anyways. elixxon
I think he meant by skipping the main questline to simply have the whole thing completed at start with all the rewards in your inventory like Bloodletter, Nahkriin, Elder Scroll(Dragon), etc.
DarkFairy003
Thanks, elixxon. Yes, like I said in the post, I'd like to skip the MQ *entirely*. As in, AFTER Alduin is defeated.
tnu
I think this could actually be done in a much more itneresting way. allowing y ou to choose via MCM wher eyo u are in the main quest. like choosing to skip Dragon Rising. or Way of the Voice. DarkFairy003
Well, the Not So Fast Main Quest mod includes a toggle to skip Season Unending (quest with the negotiations) entirely. So that is possible. I can also picture MCM options for the different hold ownership choices; Stormcloak or Imperial for a selected hold. Or do the former, skip the negotiations entirely. simtam
It's just a couple of console commands, because the devs of MQ had a convention to use stage 1 of each MQ quest as that sort of dev skip stage (the real start is by convention stage 10). The Nahkriin mask and some word walls shouts which are optional can be added with console commands as well. Of course, with Vaticidal mod, defeating Alduin does not make it over yet, and part of the joy is to replay the MQ with all the alternatives you can find.
