HeyYou
I can remember when 50 cents worth of gas wouldn't fit in my motorcycle...... And not all of the additional cost is accounted for by inflation. I remember the gas wars..... When nearby stations would be competing, and you would see the price drop to 15 cents a gallon or so. I read a couple articles today about 'fully automated restaurants'. Reason these are being brought about? 15.00 dollar an hour minimum wages...... That same article put out statistics on exactly what should have been fully expected from raising minimum wage so quickly, jobs fled the areas by the thousands. How the politicians pushing for such stupidity could fail to see the writing on the wall just bewilders me. In what fantasy world do they live, that they couldn't see this happening, even when they had be flat out TOLD this was going to be the result of their artificial meddling? I would like to think that they aren't that dumb, but, time and time again, they show me that yes, indeed, they have the IQ of a stone. And that is probably insulting the stone. sunshinenbrick
I remember seeing a banner once, it read 'if there is a minimum wage, why is there no maximum?'

Harbringe
Dont know about this but there are people who are saying this has got legs and if it does , it could blow apart the entire Republican establishment. http://www.thepoliticalinsider.com/breaking-ted-cruz-sex-scandal-appears-looming/ I'm not up with how this all started but , first there was the posting of Trumps wife nude pictures and then Trump made some comments about Cruz's wifes connections (establishment) and such and hinted he ought not to do what he was doing. Then they had a brief Twitter war , ( really , 2 leading Republican candidates having a Twitter war , this is what amounts to "Presidential" in the Republican party these days). How far things have sunk. Anyway after all that, this comes out about Cruz having multiple affairs , could this be what Trump was hinting at when he warned him (Cruz) against what he was doing by bringing Melania (Trumps wife) into the fray. Anyway maybe someone who knows more about this whole Twitter war thing can point out things I don't know about (not that much into following closely these 2 idiots) but have to say this if even half true can blow up the entire Republican race and quite honestly think its indicative of the implosion of the Republican brand itself. This is the most interesting primary season I have ever seen in my lifetime. Edited March 25, 2016 by Harbringe
WursWaldo
I first heard about Cruz having multiple affairs a few weeks ago. Youtuber Alex Jones mentioned it while he was in mid-rant about how Trump is being treated by the party. I wasn't surprised since CRuz panders himself as a 'christian' and his speaking manner is that of a televangelist. Tim Baker and Jerry Falwell style. One thing will happen with the religious right; if this Cruz thing pans out to be true they will abandon him on moral grounds. Not only that but the liberal press will have something to talk about other than Trump. IF it is true all Trump has to do is make one statement to distance himself from the Cruz situation and then wait.
Aurielius
Dont know about this but there are people who are saying this has got legs and if it does , it could blow apart the entire Republican establishment. <snip>I get it, in fact I think everyone debating here gets it..you simply can't wait for the Republican Party to implode. If you have a thesis I am more than willing to debate it.Posting tabloid vids does nothing to advance your cause, unless you believe that the conservatives here can be swayed (which I doubt). In fact I have yet to see one side sway their opposition in all the years I have debated here especially in terms of political pov. Personally I find the Prez dancing the Tango as Brussels mourns equally droll. So if you want to talk questionable optics, then there are more on both sides other than just conservative candidates to cherry pick from.
WursWaldo
True. Nothing brought to point in this thread has changed my views of Democrats. In fact it has only reinforced what I already knew about the support base. They do not question their own. The posts in this thread are the same parroted points and regurgitation people can read anywhere. No effort, no thought; simply the compliance of useful idiots. The only critical assessments I have are for my own party and I came to those conclusions on my own. I just happened to post my revelations in this thread, hoping for something...anything. That didn't happen. What I got was pseudo-intellectual open form slam prose posing as witism. The YouTube parodies and commentaries I ignored, like the back ground hum of industrial machinery. You hear it so often that it becomes an part of the landscape, like crickets or cicadas. From what I have seen asking questions and doubting isnt's part of the Democrat mindset. There isn't critical evaluation of their own party, only compliance and reiteration of false narratives. Liberalism is the new fundamentalism.
Lisnpuppy
I've said I was voting for myself...and I question my decision making all the time.

WursWaldo
So I'm sitting here with my coffee regular and my everything bagel with veggie cream cheese shmear and I have an epiphany; the Republican establishment and the conservative elite are social justice progressives just like their Democrat/Liberal counterparts. Look at what is happening with the Republican primary on the way to the convention nomination. The establishment and the elite want equality of outcome, not equality of opportunity. Trump is playing by the rules and in a position to win, so the Republican powers-that-be change the rules to get the results they want. That is a socialist way of doing things.
