Has moding gone too far?

Newly released mod; dude with a vagina. LOL! Hay, each his own and thats what makes Skyrim so great. Couple months ago a mod called Being Female. That mod is about a womens cycle. Whats next? Having to change tampons in mid battle? buying maxi pads at the general store?

How is it too far? If you don't like any particular mod, just don't use it. Mod essentially mean modifications. Can there be far too many modifications or a particular modification going 'too far'? This would come down to the individual's preference and when as such as it is a relative notion, there can be no limits or any 'going too far' with a mod. :)

I have seen on offer Little Ponies, Dragon Thomas the Tank Engine, Body Dismemberment, giant Chickens, extra Blood, giant Weapons, Guns, Cars, extreme Gore, extreme Cannibalism, Poop and Pee and more...As you said, each to their own, some of which I use also, some of which I wouldn't...we all Mod our Games for our own varying experiences...extreme Realism, lolz, Anime lovers, etc...So I would say 'no', Modding hasn't gone too far, just caters to individualized wants and Game experiences, is the beauty of a Single Player Game :)

True. But the question why the hell do you need a guy with a vagina in a game like Skyrim is pretty legitimate. Individual preference in some cases is just another word for abnormal preference.

it is amazing how many people turn skyrim into a "porn show" with sex mods and half or completely naked women everywhere.

I personally wouldnt install these things but its not going too far. They have a pooping mod. Sex mods. Prostitutes. Pregnancy. Its really amazing how many there are and how far people have taken this game.

Its good for the community. Dont like it dont use it.

Thank god there are no standards in games, otherwise I'd stop playing. That's one of the few places where you can still do what you want and how you want, without having to render account to some moral apostels. No, modding has not and will never go too far. It's up to you what you put into your game. Mod authors are free to set their ideas in stone and publish them.

It depends on the intent of the author, and unfortunately, we cant know that truthfully.

I suspect that a good many of these dickgirl, man-gina, "only gay marriage" and other such mods exist entirely for troll bait. A small number were honestly made to cater to the 2% of the worlds population that swings that way; but the majority are just trolls.

Then we have what I call the "Slippery Slope Effect". Many fools use the term "Slippery Slope" in an argument as if it means anything or invalidates an argument.

Unfortunately, those rare times when you really do have a "slippery slope" situation (where one issue doesnt relate directly to another but parallels well) mankind doesnt tread carefully, but rather treats it like a roller coaster, pushing all boundaries, and then coming back for seconds and thirds.

So, the Trolly modders will keep looking for new boundaries, new ways to shock, trying to be the next "gone too far!" Because thats what they live for. Much like actual trans and homosexuals, ironically the worst thing you can do is exactly what they ask: treat them like everyone else. Ignore them unless you have a reason to care. Or, as most forum rules put it: "Dont Feed the trolls!"
