Dat argument >.>

Was playing a game with a language filter being turned on by default. Then got nasty tells from someone after I used the word s#*! in chat....I told them to turn their filter back on so they didn't have to see it. Their response was..."NO I shouldn't have to have the filter on......" My response. "If you don't want to see those shitty words you do!"

That's not a solution. I want to have adult content be shown, just not have literally every Hot File at the time of writing be a CBBE mod.

Edit: I am not against these mods being public, but more creative mods are missing their chance at the spotlight because TnA are dominating the front page.

Yes I wanted to see adult content but to avoid the in yer face vaginas! You can just block CBBE content which is the main culprit for the really OTT stuff. I did this and it's much better.

There is another thread about this now and the solution IS to use your filters or have your Nexus page connect to something other than the hot files page. That is why these features were made. You can also filter using the TAGS and filter perhaps CBBE or the like and keep adult content on and filter out the others. You can also block a mod author and never see their content again.

Lots of options here.

I'm with Lis on this one. For the most part people help with "turn on/off xyz feature". "Stop complaining" is just blaming the OP, not addressing his/her/it/them issue.

Why should the moderators at The Nexus have to do anything, when it's our responsibility to either view the content or not? And it is extremely immature to make threads complaining about said content. I use this analogy for the content. You are traveling along, and see a sign for a bookstore. You don't see the adult part until you are closer to the sign. Without knowing what the bookstore really is, you walk in there and see all the adult books, magazines, and other stuff. Then you walk up to the cashier, and complain loud and long about how you walked in and saw all the adult material, and that they should put it out of sight, etc. The clerk said, you didn't see the signs? And you walked in here, what were you expecting, something like a bookstore that only allowed adults in it? And other questions that brings about the immaturity of the person walking in. I thought that most of us were more mature than this, and yet, this is the third thread I have seen complaining about things. If you don't want to view it, then it is up to you, not the moderators, to either turn off the adult features, or self-filter. It is not their job to do anything else. You agreed to the TOS, and the adult content, when you signed up. What were you expecting some sort of place that kids aren't all over it? I would rather see the forum moderators delete all these complaint threads, and before new "complaint" threads are made, and posted, that they have to be checked by a moderator for said complaints, and deleted before they are started. Get off your damned high horses, and either do things yourself, or shut up and soldier on.

For anyone that doesn't know how to use tags to block specific types of mods

As the tags may be different for different games you may have to do this for each game you follow.

1. Look in the upper right corner of any page on the File downloads for that game ( where you get the mods) Find your name - mine looks like 'bben46's account - click on that

2. In the drop down menu, select 'User Area'

3. In the new window look on the left and down until you find the 'Files' category. Click on 'Block Tags' at the bottom of the list.

4. On the new page click on the box for each category you want to not see. A check mark will show on any you have selected (clicking again will uncheck them)

5. IMPORTANT: after selecting all of the categories you want to block, scroll to the bottom and click on the green BLOCK THESE TAGS for it to take effect.

Done.

If you come across some mod that it doesn't block properly - consider helping us out and tagging that mod.

Please use some common sense when tagging as false tags mean the tag system will not work properly.
