tomomi1922
Why do you even have to play at 1440p? I can use a 27" Mac monitor and comfortably play at 1080p in window mode. Or for best performance, you should play at 1080p full screen mode. Although not native resolution, the details should not be bad. Before I got my GTX 970, I even had to play at 720p. It was doing ok until I got to area where I dealt with 20fps even in Low setting (running on some 5 years old video cards with 1Gb VRAM because I didn't feel the need to upgrade). So that hit my bottom line and I ran out the next day for a $330 GTX 970. You really need to do the optimization I mentioned above. The shadow optimization/scaling mod, and adjusting shadow resolution really helps a huge deal. I literately gained about 10-15fps doing the 2 things without noticeable quality loss. Maybe you can even handle 1440p (about 2x the size of 1080p).

Right now it looks like I could sell my gtx 970 for about $275, so if I can find a 980 ti for around $575 I would probably bite. I did try the optimizations you suggested, and they help quite a bit, so that will likely hold me over until 980 prices come down. Thanks for the feedback. Boombro
Make sure that 980 ti is not faulty first if you can.
