The issue is probably Settlement Keywords. It just happened to me a few hrs ago when I updated a mod that now requires settlement keywords.

I'm not sure what you mean. I already have SK installed, it's second in the load order. Or do you mean that it is causing the problem because it is installed? I've had it installed for a few days, it just seemed to be the order that was messing things up. I'm down for a few hours while I download a clean install and move it to my secondary SSD (it's larger). This way I can also have the mods and game on the same drive, hopefully limiting any issues that NMM mentions during the setup process. I've had a few issues with virtual folders, so I'm trying to eliminate one little piece of the problem pie.

This is my loadorder:

  Reveal hidden contents

-Result-

Armorsmith and Weaponsmith workbenches seems to be working fine with no categories renamed or changed. (Replaces the armor and weapon workbenches in Craffting Workbenches.)

The bottom category in the Chemistry Station is relabeled "Warehouse Supplies" (from Homemaker) and seems to be a dumping ground for items that should be in the "Other" category. But 7 other categories show fine.

**The recipes stuffed into the bottom category of the Chemistry Station that is relabeled "Warehouse Supplies" are from mods that tried to add a custom category to the Chemistry Station like Tagbag. They are not vanilla recipes.

Crafting Workbenches(Ammunition and Junk) is still at 1 category.

-Speculation-
Could Settlement Keywords factor in? Yes, since it adds keywords.

Does this glitch predate Settlement Keywords? Yes, it is the same categories(keyword) overflow glitch that players experienced in the workshop. It is the cursed result of the keyword llimitation set by Bethesda.

Will any mod that adds keywords contribute to this glitch/limitation? Yes

On the bright side. Things at least improved for me.

  • 7 months later...

I'd like to add to this topic, even if I know its kind of old: my problem is that the cathegory for generators and water have disappeared. I have a suspicion that its one of the later mods I've installed that screws things up, but I think I have disabled pretty much every one of them trying to get this to work.

Instead of digging-up a nine month old topic, look on the same page for other topics about this same issue which have causes and solutions...

Odds are good you improperly uninstalled a mod that uses scripts to add to the workshop menus. If you uninstall any mod which adds items to the workshop menu, first read their description for correct uninstall methods.

To fix it try the Universal Menu Fixer located on the files tab of this tutorial.

Note the following as well.

According to Steve40: "when uninstalling mods that use script-added menus, it is mandatory that you quit the game to the Windows desktop after deactivating the mod, before loading another save game. If you deactivated the mod using the vanilla MODS menu and immediately loaded up a save game without first quitting to the desktop and restarting FO4, the menu might be missing even if you used the proper uninstall chem/holoatape. The same rule applies when using missing menu fixer tools."

Thanks so much. I've been searching for a while now to fix mine...and nothing else worked. I Fubar'd it good...only had 3 categories in my Workshop Menu after uninstalling some mods....but that mod you linked fixed it.
