Ethreon
So what if the NPC can't handle it? Who says it has to be a fair fight? I'd be happy with just being able to get a car or a motorcycle going, and I think it could lead to some fun quests trying to hunt down the right parts to make the vehicle usable. I can imagine a 200 year old vehicle breaking down a lot, too, which adds to the fun. That said, I also have to confess I'd get a certain amount of enjoyment out of stealing a vertibird and going on a few strafing runs across the wasteland. Nice Idea, actually making it a Quest getting the Vehicle together/working, and then ongoing maintenance necessary . In regards to what Ethreon said - and he is right with that: since the Commonwelath is hilly, rocky, filled with ruins and rabble, how about thinking of a kindof custommade buggy thing ? You know much like "salvage engine and other necessary parts from vehicles, get the required pieces to get that stuff repaired, then put all of it into a custommade steelframe..." - kindof like a Sand or BeachBuggy . Ofc it then would be necessary to create some kind of content which explains how the Player is able to do that all thta kindof stuff . But *heh* you know - QuestMods ? You can easily modify PA which are one of the most advanced forms of tech out there. You can easily modify laser/plasma based weapons, including an alien (???) weapon. Being able to make your own buggy or motorcycle should be piece of cake.
Boombro
since the Commonwelath is hilly, rocky, filled with ruins and rabble, how about thinking of a kindof custommade buggy thing Just because it a buggy, doesn't mean it would walk around the CW like a buggy though. Here is an idea from older fallout mod. A portable home that is a truck. The back space is the living area, but in the front seat. You can active the wheel. A pop up will show up, with all the place the modder wishes to add, cities, settlements and what not. The truck will need flamer fuel, but we can use a core.It not drive-able, but it still awesome. I personally, want a boat.
Ethreon
Boombro, you're gonna be severely limited :P. Plus, if you use it on the ocean, mutant Cthulhu might awaken and eat you.
Boombro
But I like sitting one the chair with seagulls and the sounds of waves.
BooneoftheWasteland
A row boat to fit in the boathouse would be awesome.

But then, imho it would be nice if the abilities you mention werent that easily available to the Player . If only I knew how to create mods, I would start working on a set of mods where the Player has to learn a whole lot of stuff - through quests, books etc. - to be able to do quite a lot of the things they atmo do as if it was 2nd nature . I have quite some part of that Idea already mapped out in my head, as it stands though I no nothing about writing mods really, and mostly lack the time to read up and practice really fast . I may get there later than sooner, but if I am lucky, some other, more experienced people will have worked soomething like it out way before Id be able to make it . robhartman9
The Corvega in fallout 2 was seriously broken when the game was released. You fast traveled to a new destination and only half of the car got there. They made a patch to fix it but its not like you could drive it around or anything. I was a little disappointed in FNV when I realized the flight simulators were not functional even if you were able to convince the old guy to talk about them. F4 is a little better in that you can go for a vertibird ride and even summon one of them with a flare. I still would like to see a functioning Lone Wanderer it would be fun to see if you could jump the gaps in the superhighways and if not Splat. Piloting a tilt rotor aircraft is not really easy and any realistic flight model for that would be more than most people could handle. I would rather they did not include this rather than making an over simplified flight model.
robhartman9
I am kind of surprised there are no functional boats in the game. The provisioner for spectacle island keeps drowning and its really hit or miss when I build there if I will have access to my resources.
Boombro
I am kind of surprised there are no functional boats in the game.Unlike Skyrim, there no cities/towns on rivers or the sea. So I hardly see how it useful.
