As do I.

And yes, my dear...it WAS a body count.

Also its probably more of a joke to continue arguing your "point" (and I use that term in the most loose of fashions) in this thread than to write to broadcasting stations.

The fact is that its a part of history, a chance for all us Anglophiles to see all these fantastical things and it did my heart a bit good to see two folks very obviously in love.

I tire of all the bad news....no matter how "important" it may be. I for one am glad I was up to see the wedding, for many reasons. The bad news comes back soon enough. There is the internet and a plethora of 24 hour new channels that manage to slip in all that stuff.

I give up :(

Ill end on saying there was a lot of important news this week, I guess its up to every individual to decide what they think was the most important.

Yes and amazingly I managed to hear about all these important things. They were still there and long after everyone stops talking about the wedding they will still be there.

What would covering the tornadoes more extensively do anyways? Certainly wouldn't prevent them. Raise awareness maybe, but if you live in a tornado-prone state, you should know of the dangers already. Could say it's an homage to the victims, but all the news I've seen just gives you a generic bodycount and a few photos of destroyed houses. No specific names, no life stories.

I'm kind of glad to see that a non-doom and gloom story is finally reported. The media seems to be so utterly fixed on death and destruction every day that if you read nothing but the newspapers and watched new shows, you'd think the world is coming to an end because of all the killing.

And there's your answer for the thread. I agree, well put Lisnpuppy.

Unfortuantly yes, thats how people are. I understand that some people want good news that their prince got married but i still feel miffed about the lost lives that none seem to care much about.

Debating this point is futile as they have obviously made their mind, i suggest you move on.

The two aren't linked. Just because I cared about the royal wedding doesn't mean I don't care about the lives lost in the Tornado.

News is based on importance.

The argument is which news story should be bigger.

If you think that the royal wedding is bigger, you think it is more important then the storms and the deaths.
