I just wanted to thank Wax2k, Ethreon & Gambit for this thread. Many of the rules on page 1 I had figured out myself the hard way since FO4 has come out. But I noticed that when I finished reading the entire thread that I had an entire page of notes of things I did not know. So I'm just posting a thank you for the time and effort that you people have put into making this game function better for all of us.

Hey peeps, i'm back with another teeny little question if anyone could help :smile:

I'm still trying to really figure out if everything is correct since changing to SK, and so far, the only thing i can really see is that i have no 'large signs' and 'large paintings' within Decorations>Wall Decorations.

Is that just because i don't have any mods installed that add to those catagories? So they'll appear if i add a mod that uses them?

Edit: I do have the latest version of SK btw

There seems to be a misconception of how categories work. If you have no items added to a category, it won't show up, simple as that. Otherwise, your menus would have a lot of categories that come with the vanilla game (cages anyone?).

  • 2 weeks later...

I'm a bit late to this thread I know, but I've tried everything I can think of and continue to have a CTD when attempting to access the workshop after:

Uninstalling all Fallout 4 files, twice, including the appdata and my games folders left behind by an uninstall;

Removing all traces of Fallout 4 from the Windows registry;

Removing all mods and related folders that were previously created by NMM;

Uninstalling NMM and not reinstalling it again;

Starting over with a clean install of Fallout 4, twice;

downloading someone else's clean save game and not replacing any of mine.

I have no mods, no NMM files or folders, no trace of old Fallout 4 installs that I can see anywhere, all .ini and prefs files were located and deleted at least once, probably twice and allowed to re-create themselves. I have no new textures folder, no workshop related files that I can see and nothing that would have created them. Everything I can see is vanilla. Prior to the last install, a Windows search returned no files for the keyword "fallout".

As soon as I hit E or V for the workshop I get a CTD. This began as an issue with mods installed by NMM, but these are all long gone now as is NMM itself. I have run out of things to delete and reinstall and I'm sorry to have to ask for help but I honestly can't think of anything I've overlooked. I have an entirely clean install, but there must be something I've missed. I just can't think where to look.

Thanks in advance, if you can see what I missed and save what's left of my hair.
