aedrys
Try as I might, and I've gotten his disposition way past 60, Marius Caro does not trust me and won't sell me a house in Leyawin. I've finished the Mazoga Quest and I am a Knight of the White Stallion, so I don't understand why he doesn't trust me. Any suggestions for getting his trust back? Or a way to fix this so I can buy a house in Leyawin? This is the only house I can't buy!!! By the way, I'm replaying Oblivion on a PC. So if there is a mod or some other way to fix this, I'd love to hear about it! Edited May 22, 2011 by aedrys

Lisnpuppy
Some of the houses...you have to have a certain fame/infamy level also...not just personality. Edit: but not this one...lol :whistling: I always just bribe him
HelloStranger
If you're on the PC you can try modifying his disposition towards you to 100. Which you can do by pressing ` and then clicking on him and entering: moddisposition <actorid> <nn>, where actorid is your id (which you can figure out by clicking on yourself with the console open) and nn is amount you want to add to his disposition. (If he has 60 disposition and you want him to have 100, then nn would be 40.) As a VERY last resort (because it's rather annoying and might have other repercussions, plus I've never had to do it so idk if it'd work.) you could use the console to add the key to your inventory, setownership to you for everything in the house, and remove the 7000 gold from your inventory so it's like you bought it. MichikoUnknownFox
I tend to butter them up with speechcraft, which usually gets me to about the 70+ or even 80+ range (cuz I use it a lot, I got high levels in it already), and the rest I'll just bribe them. I dunno the minimum disposition he has to be to sell you the house (without checking a spoiler/guide), but I know I was able to buy that house already without cheating lol. Xios5
Always get people to max disposition with your weapon out, then put it away, talk to them again and your disposition will have gone up by 10. It's a bit nooby but you might as well.
