Anyway, It sure isn't perfect, but there is definitely a real need for a body to govern international law, oversee peacekeeping operations, and provide protection for human rights on a global level. More so than ever. It's failing often appear to be not the UN itself, but from it member states and those governments that comprise that body. What is the point of being on it and being part of creating the laws, if they themselves do not hold themselves accountable to them. in its failing, it is the member states making the mockery.

The only way to make the UN effectual at enforcing it self at policing superpowers, is probably making them a bigger superpower, but just thinking if one were to do so, the US and many countries would have to agree to such a thing in the first place. But if they continue to ignore UN edicts and such, it is currently on them. imo, that is f***ing sad, because when it comes to doing the right thing, it is an act of good faith, and in politics, economics, war, There just doesn't seem to be any good faith out there.

In particular, the whole process around the Iraq war is convoluted, who do you even put on trial? Bush, the CIA, Powel? personally, I'd say all of them. But would they even turn up to court.. Bush wouldn't!

Blair might turn up though. Perhaps even Powel.

It's not like people high up in those respective country's aren't themselves above their own domestic law.

Don't believe I ever claimed the current system was fair. Just that the "fair tax" was a misnomer, and also why I advocated a flat tax.

Almost anything is better than what we have now.

Well, not anything.... but, yeah, something needs to change. Trouble is, there are WAY too many people that 'like' the current system...... the folks in congress that vote on these issue don't pay taxes anyway, so, they don't care..... it's just a non-issue to them. Not like they are spending their money.....

Ross Perot was talking about a flat tax the first time he ran for President....... had he stayed in the race, and not dropped out, and then joined back up.... he might actually have had a chance of winning. But, he screwed it up, and blew any chance he might have had then, and for the future.

Donald Trump? Oh God, Please, no. Not him...... He could tank our country is less time than Obama.....

Sarah Palin? If brains were C4, she might have enough to blow her nose....
