Real DLC?

They already said that the first batch of DLC would be Automatron for 10$, Wasteland Workshops for 5$, and then Far Harbor for 25$. They said Far Harbor would be released in May and they hinted it will be the second biggest DLC Bethesda has ever done, bigger than 'Dawnguard' and smaller than 'Shivering Isles' when it comes to content. However the world size is supposedly bigger than Shivering Isles.

As someone who doesn't really play Elder Scrolls games, I don't exactly know what all that means, just telling you what I have read from Bethesda.

Then after that they will have a second batch of DLC that hasn't been talked about yet. If I remember correctly they promised over 60$ worth of DLC for Fallout 4.

The SI is as big as let say, 1/2 of FO3 map?

DG was 10 hours long, for least 20 for everything.

I'm no fan of the whole DLC ethos, but that's the direction the entire industry is moving in, so better get used to it. Are they milking their games? Sure, but that's just the nature of corporations. Complaining about it is like pissing in the wind. Anyway, I've got no real beef with Bethesda. Compare them to a company like Ubisoft, for instance, and they come out looking pretty damn good.

They are not milking it when they spend time after game release to finish content they can later add in DLC. Would you rather get the base game and nothing more (no DLCs, no Creation Kit, no Survival Mode Update), because Bethesda moved on to creating TES 6 for the next 4-6 years? It would be conterproductive to pay your crew for a year to design content and then sell nothing of it.

Far Harbor "should be" about as big as DragonBorn which is bigger than Dawnguard and smaller than Shivering Isles (not sure never played that one).

Its not like anything has caught me by surprise Im just a bit dumbfounded that others are. I mean they were really up front about pretty much everything.

Also I'd like to point out that Fallout New Vegas and its DLC are not Bethsada products.....But since you brought it up, I'll say that in my opinion the only thing that was actually good about FNV was its twist on game mechanics....Not a dang thing other than that interested me and in fact I was kinda put off by their supposedly good dlc which I didn't like so maybe that gives you an idea that not everyone loved that game.

GRA was never fully implanted into the FNV game outside of UGC or Mods that fans made and there are loads of examples for Fallout New Vegas and of course Fallout 3.

The major distinction that pretty much every thread has missed is that the DLC for Fallout 4 is in fact integrated into the game world really well. That is that we get new stuff in the game world that is entirely propogated into the actual world space that we spend all our time in as opposed to being in a pocket dimension that we would spend 5 hours in and never return. Not to mention that each DLC has introduced new game mechanics into the game....Which is huge but of course your not thinking about game mechanics or how hard those actually are to implement into an existing game but I can assure you its no piece of cake sorry there fella's that's a huge investment of time with a whole team of people in some cases.

I find it absurd that people will claim milking when I look at the scale of the game....I also find it annoying to read untrue claims and comparisons like Witcher 3 whose modding platform fell on its arse.

The next issue I see come up is mod users going on about how its mod content....Hey you know what I cant respect you for that cause unlike you I have put in 6 months of my life making mods over the course of 10 years so uh ya lets see you do that. That attitude brings up a whole host of other niggling issues that'd take several more forum threads to discuss but sure it annoys the heck out of me. That figure is a lowball guess too cause I can think of two mods that I've done that took 6 months to build with free time...I've made over 40 mods....Many in the last year of 2015 when I was taking more college course work.

The real issue is that people are spoiled for choice and just get on the forums to chew the hate as it were...

Guess you should have bought the whole pack of DLC at $25 cause you know what if you ever really bought all the DLC for just one game product at full price then you'd know the overall price would have been $60-80 dollars. So lets see....Morrowwind, Oblivion, Fallout 3, Fallout NV, Skyrim.....Ya you get the idea spent a ton of money no Im not surprised gaming is expensive news flash @ 11PM.

Then people like to bring up MMORPG's well guess what?

I know people like to deny it but those swimsuits for characters on random chance are worse than your odds gambling I know people that spent thoasands of dollars on customs and likely they still are spending absurd amounts of cash.

Attached Argument "But I kans do it for free" Oh so your hours in life are that worthless? You participate in a free MMORPG playing for free but fail to realize that your spending thoasands of hours playing the game to keep up with those that will work a job than spend a little of their earnings to make up the difference,.....Don't kid yourself every game or product has a means to earn your worth....That argument falls flat on its butt cause what the guy with the job does is sell the outfit or the random box which means that just by participating in the game your fueling the real cash economy.

Next issue I take with all of this...

DLC has been a fact of life for 20 years of gaming....This is not a new occurance and in fact has been a common industry standard for longer than some of people going on about it have been sharing the oxygen that I also have to breath.

GET OFF MY LAWN.

I don't remember the Witcher 3 being marketed a highly moddable game, not that it needed it in my opinion. Complaining or pointing out things people didn't like does not equal "hate", and consumers have every right to do so.
