SnB on its own works without patches. No clue about the other mod, you'd have to ask Elianora.

SSEX doesn't have that many items for you to want the SK version of it, but if you want it, you'll also have to grab the community patches that are floating around between WW and SK. Also, there's no official patch between SK and SSEX, there's only the SSEX version of SSEX, which should be used instead of the main mod, not same time as the main mod. Any other SK-SSEX patches you have should be uninstalled.

That makes sense actually, as the patch I found was from January and hasn't been updated. And I know from reading over the posts that the name of the ESM changed so, that patch probably wouldn't work anyways. Now, on the topic of SK since you bring it up, I'm slightly confused as to why SSEX says it's incompatible but on the SK page it says it's not. Now I'm assuming that the reason the SK page says that is because it's not been updated since February and if I'm correct you didn't release SK version until march, so that would make sense. I am curious though, when you're playing, do you use the SK version or the Vanilla version?

I don't play with SK or SSEX on. Used to have SK when I spent time building, but 8-900 hours invested in that are enough. I play very little, and I do it mostly to play test my main mods. SSEX is just maintenance, I don't need the stuff inside it much. It was just a shame to let it continue being used in a poor state, so why not offer my help to update it to more playable standards?

Fair enough. My line of thinking right now is two fold: I know in the poll that Homemaker is the clear front runner and considering that (until you came on) SSEX had fallen into disrepair, it's understandable that Homemaker would take the lead on it. And I think right now, because there are more people that use Homemaker, there's more interest to keep it going with patches for SK and whatever. My issue though moving forward is, and just letting people know if they don't know, that Nova (the mod author of Homemaker) has taken a break and I'm concerned moving forward that at some point down the line the mod will become... not dead but in a shape similar to where SSEX was a few months ago. For that reason, I'm leaning towards SSEX as at least that is getting updates when necessary. Now, I will acknowledge that in the sticky, you mentioned taking it on (which by the way, I echo what one poster and say thanks for all you do) to handle the bugs that were there. Incidentally, what is happening on that front? I'm assuming that you aren't handling that mod as well at this point with it not being updated for two months.

The only issue with mods that add categories (now that the cap problem is gone) is that if you have two or more mods that modify the same menu, you need to patch them together for them all to work properly.

Basically, as I understand it, each time you add something to a given menu, you're actually creating a whole new menu that overrides the previous ones. So, to get everything to work together, the one that loads last needs to have the custom menu items from all of the mods that change that same menu.

If you're patching for yourself, that's no problem. If you're patching for others to use, it can get to be a hefty amount of work.

For example, say you have a mod that changes a certain submenu, and there are two other popular mods that change the same submenu, Mod X and Mod Y.

You want people using your mod to be able to use both of those other mods too, but some of them may be using only Mod X, some only Mod Y, and some both of them.

You need to make a patch for Mod X, a patch for Mod Y, and a patch for Mods XY, because if you do just XY, then people using only X or only Y won't be able to get it to work (due to missing masters).

Now, I'm new to categories and patching myself, so I could be wrong about this, but this is the way it was explained to me, and the way that seems to be working on my own mods.

I feel like DDProductions AIO should be in this list. I don't use almost any of these mods or that one because most of them add a severe amount of clutter and bog down load times. (All still great mods though!) You are better off getting the Wasteland Workshop DLC, and adding just a couple lightweight mods to your game. Like Crafting Fury 9000 GTX. That mod doesn't destroy your workshop menus or anything, it doesn't try to overachieve in a game where you aren't yet allowed to go there. It adds just enough without wasting any space, while allowing a few other lightweight mods as well. The best word to use I would say, is I prefer not to use mods that seem very "Greedy". lol

I use homemaker, snap and build, and crafting fury 9000 gtx together with no problems. That being said, I can't install DDProduction's all in one mod on top of all those and have the game load. I suspect I'm hitting the keyword cap.

On a slightly different note, I would love some way to "favorite" certain build menu items you use a lot of have handy access to them. One instance is in Homemaker, in Structures/Metal/Walls the walls I like are called "White Wall" or something and its at the very end of the list of metal/walls. Its the only plain bright white wall I've seen in Fallout 4 and matches the patterns of the Sanctuary walls very well.

Ethreon, I believe that Nova has asked if anyone wants to take over Homemaker... (If I recall right) SSEX had a lot going for it early on. I loved the mod before all the big ones hit the scene, but I found the standard and quality of Homemaker was just infinitely better. Over time I found very little offered by SSEX that Homemaker didn't do a better job on. Also, SSEX caused a CTD in the doors category and did not play well with other mods.

My recommendation would be to combine the two and take the assets from SSEX that are not in Homemaker and port them in, instead of the other way around. Both had covenant walls, for example, but only Homemaker's snapped. Basically, you have a lot more to work with if you use Homemaker as the starting point, IMO.

Uhm, no. I won't be merging the two mods mainly because I don't maintain HM, and it's not in my interest to spend days upon days putting together all the bits of each mod. I have plenty work as is without the need to do this. Also nova is going to update her mod gradually.

I suggest checking the current SSEX page since your information is outdated.

I will, Like I said, it was a good mod in it's time. It's nice to see someone showing it some love again.

Also, I think I misunderstood what you were saying. I thought you had implied that you took over SSEX and were implementing Homemaker. My mistake, sorry. No offence intended.
