Sepherose
From the pics linked above of the pipboy 2000, it looks to me like it would be larger in dimensions than the 3000 is. I do recall it being said somewhere in Fallout 3 that the 3000 is smaller in overall size than the 2000 plus.
ModelV
I dont even remember the pipboy 2000 being mentioned anywhere in Fallout 3 only different 3000 models the one you use is the pipboy 3000A.

That's not from the game, only a design meant to represent the pipboy. Don't take it for an accurate representation. :) Actually was refering to the screen capture from FO1 I think it was where it shows the pipboy 2000 display. The face panel of the 2000 plus is bigger than the face panel on the 3000, at least in area. We can only guess how thick it is or how much 'edge' it has, and how large the arm clamps are of course. Gopher
It doesnt have arm clamps... Clamps, straps, duct taped to the arm.... however it was mounted on the arm, it would have required some more volume. Even with straps it would have required some sort of forearm shaped pad to keep it from rattling around. Besides, I honestly think in the Fallout world metal clamps are more likely. minngarm
So basically weve narrowed it down to the face plate and text font being the only real reason to argue between the two.

Shantih
So basically weve narrowed it down to the face plate and text font being the only real reason to argue between the two. Nope. All I can see here is guessing. There is nothing that gives a solid basis regarding the dimensions of that thing. It's all purely subjective and based on speculations. If the Pipboy 2000 was available as a PDA then it is doubtful that the wrist version would require such a large contraption. But that is just my opinion. If the only valid basis is the picture from Fallout 1 and 2 in which we can see some wiring and the vault boy then it's not an indication of the overall size of the apparatus. After all there is nothing that says that it can't be a bit bigger than your regular wristwatch and nothing else. It's hard enough to drag around a plasma TV on one's arm... Also there is no way the pipboy 3000 could be mounted on the wrist so it seems fair to assume that the 2000 model is probably smaller (the important word here being probably). The Fallout wiki has the screen size of the Pipboy 2000 as 3x5 inches. So if that picture is to scale, we know it is probably MUCH bigger than a wrist watch. We also know the Pipboy 2000 plus was larger than the Pipboy 2000 and considered 'cumbersome'. Obviously this relies on the fallout wiki and fallout fansites being correct. But I have found zero references to the contrary so it is hard to come to any other conclusion than the Fallout wiki is accurate. I will not stake my life on that and accept my own memory may be affected by reading the Fallout wiki, but really I am going to need some evidence to make me believe that, and some explanation for why the Fallout wiki got it so wrong, and for so long.
