meluvseveryone
Do you ever find yourself listening to kinda, pretty, or totally old music that you love or used to love? Any bands or even solo acts you used to love and miss so much now? There must be some, I cannot believe how many people have said they miss NSYNC and Spice Girls... I know, ew. But it's the nostalgia I guess. Personally, I find myself listening to Madison Avenue all the time, and they only ever made one album... god i miss the early 2000s. So anyway, if the first two sentences got you thinking, care to share about the old bands you used to love and may or even may not miss?
Nintii
Well I can't really say that i've missed them but rather rather I'd say that besides being his daughter, the ONLY thing I have in common with my Dad is his music which has grown on me over all the years. This is what rocks my world, floats my boat and flicks my switch ... musically that is. I'll start with Alison Moyet ... 80's singer with one of the most powerful female vocals (besides Janis Joplin & Stevie Nicks) that I've ever heard, I just love her stuff Led Zeppelin ... Since I've been loving you, Stairway to Heaven, Black Dog, Whole lotta love etc. etc. etc. Deep Purple ... Mad dog, Bad attitude, Child in time, Perfect stranger, Hush, Smoke on the water, Knocking at your back door, Speed king.. Black Sabbath ... Paranoid (love this number), Iron man, War pigs, The wizard. ACDC ... all their stuff ... here's one of my favs ... The Doors ... Roadhouse blues, The End, Light my fire, Riders on the storm, Midnight drive, LA Women, Strange days (one of my favs from them). The Stranglers ... Golden brown, Peaches (hot hot hot), Nice and sleazy (does it) damn you've got to love the Brits, Death & Night & Blood (awesome *running screaming wildly tripping over furniture*), Down in the sewer, Get a grip (on yourself) ............ Rattus Norvegicus possibly one of the best albums ever also their album Black & White. The Clash ... Rock the Casbah , London calling, I fought the law, Fleetwood Mac ... Rhiannon song, Sara, Go your own way, Don't stop, The Chain, I absolutely love Stevie Nicks to bits. Thin Lizzy ... Whiskey in the Jar, The boys are back in town, Holy war, Parisienne walkways, Bad reputation, Pink Floyd ... EVERYTHING THEY HAVE. The Cure, Human League, Bad Company, Golden Earing, The Who, ELO, Bronski Beat, Madness, Sex Pistols, Jimi Hendrix, Jefferson Airplane, Procol Harum, The Animals, The Mammas & the Pappas, the list is endless. Some individual songs I love ... Motorhead ... Ace of spades ... Bronski Beat ... I feel love ... this stuff is simply magic. Normally I don't listen to music at all but if I do then it's music from these individuals or groups, anyway they're old so yeah. DeathWarrior
I miss 80's metal, even though I was born in 1990. Stuff like old Metallica, Death, etc...
Illiad86
Ah...memories. Old MetallicaPantera Stabbing WestwardNINSublimeCypress HillGuns N Roses (loved them so much back in the early 90s)ToolPrimus Can't think of all of them...but man, the early to mid 90s were great. Also bad though..so glad N'Sync, Backstreet Boys, Spice Girls, and all that other pop garbage is not around anymore. Just loved it when I got harassed for not liking those bands. I grew up on the old stuff though, still listen to a lot of Zeppelin, The Doors, Deep Purple, etc...no matter how many times you've heard it, it still good...that's what I love about classic rock. Werne
The bands I really miss (most of you probably never heard about them) are: Bijelo DugmePoslednja Igra LeptiraSrebrna KrilaAzra These are Yugoslavian bands from the 80's I really like and I hate the fact they all fell apart. Although I'm a metalhead I love listening to the good old 80's music. Edited October 12, 2011 by Werne

hoofhearted4
well im only 21, so its hard to list bands i miss, esp since, growing up i didnt listen to bands that were current, i listened to old rock...and for the longest time, led zeppelin was my favorite band (and still is in the top of course) i know every single song (and i mean the ones beyond the popular ones, like Battle of Evermore, When the Levee Breaks, In the Light, Down by the Seaside, No Quarter, i could go on) and every other rock band of the era. ive only been to a couple concerts, and they were all from this era, Def Leppard w/ Tesla, Steve Miller Band, and The Police. (and one bluegrassy band called Nickle Creek) since then ive sort of moved on and opened up my blinders to other genres of music. im not naive and gunna say what i listen to now is better music. the music of old, is still some of the best music, even more they are actually musicians, and for the most part, music i enjoy comes from real instruments, not synthetic stuff (ie Lady GaGa and the like) but i listed to Alternative Rock a lot now such as Avenged Sevenfold, Skillet, Panic at the Disco, Hollywood Undead and my new all time favorite band (just barely ahead of LZ) Three Days Grace. as well screamo music. i know a lot of ppl dont like it, but its some of the best music (instrument wise i mean) ive ever heard. the drummers are sick, the guitarists are sick, and i just love the music (including the screaming), Miss May I, Black Dahlia Murder, August Burns Red, just to name a few. though i enjoy the scream that mixes screamo with singing (a la Miss May I), and like many others (though i heard of it before any of my friends) im into Dubstep (and again i pride myself in the fact i listened to it before it became widely popular) Rusko, Skrillex, Borgore..good stuff imo. JimboUK
The Who.... Sadly not the same without John Entwistle. :( Fleetwood Mac.... Fleetwood and McVie really create a unique sound and Stevie Nicks has a wonderful voice. The Jam.... Their early stuff was exceptional, rough and ready but full of energy. Got a bit rubbish towards the end. Kirsty MacColl.... Voice of an angel. Human League.... Everything great about early 80s music in package. Eurythmics.... Annie Lennox, no further comment needed. The Sex Pistols.... Terrible in a good way. They were awful live back in the day, much better these days now they've figured out what the instruments do. Enya.... Beautiful songs sung with a beautiful voice.
