Stargazer09
Conveyor belts!? SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY! I'm 100% convinced now that Fallout 4 was so lacking in innovation and content because of this stupid ass settlement building system. No wonder that the map is small, the quests are limited and the story sucks, Bethesda must have spent over a year of development getting this system in place. Completely agree. I don't hate the system, but I would absolutely prefer Bethesda have spent their time on story or gameplay. Completely agree. Boombro
It kind of odd and i would not like a story DLC rushed after Fall harbor at all. It only makes sense that the a small DLC will come out, building your own vault is something that is highly requested by reddit and the forums. Doesn't make sense not make more settlement packs since it most liked feature as well. I honestly don't mind it, seems dope. The nuka world seems like the next story one I think? I guess the next big one would be bigger than FH and coming late this year, or hopefully next year. m 100% convinced now that Fallout 4 was so lacking in innovation and content because of this stupid ass settlement building system. No wonder that the map is small, the quests are limited and the story sucks, Bethesda must have spent over a year of development getting this system in place. Map may be smaller than Skyrim's with less quests. But it was the very same deal with fallout 3 and oblivion. It had less everything, map, places, quests, no guilds or factions to join of any kind, no main quest options, less gear, nothing that can be called a city some towns were not towns (no traders whatever.) etc. it was 2x less. So i guess it was quite the shock to you since it you a skyrim player, but fallout 4 is hardly small, you are just expected skyrim in dooms world. And beth has always sucked with story. Nothing new. Been playing since oblivion, nothing changed. Edited June 13, 2016 by Boombro

After Nuka World it depends on the modders  But Bethesda announced Fallout 4 for HTC Vive in 2017, maybe we will get some new content then. But only for Vive i guess. zanity
The irony is that few would complain about a 'settler' DLC if it FIXED the biggest simple flaw with the game- the unthinkably awful AI system. Today, with mods, one can build quite amazing settlement, but the 'residents' move and behave worse than any video game (of this form) I've ever seen. The 'spawn any viable place when the player isn't looking' system drives most descerning settlement builders up the wall. The 'busy' mode that has settlers sit for 2 seconds, then stand, then repeat is atrocious. The inabilty of settlers to cluster in small groups and interact with one another makes me think I'm back 1996 (and even then games were more ambitious in this regard). Instead, Beth exploits the fact that the CK doesn't contain crucial functionality- giving them near exclusive ability to craft certain concepts (especially advanced physics). Truth be told- if Beth improved the CK, and improved the list of inbuilt functions with updates, modders would give players far BETTER options than this type of DLC

Except if i misread something. The irony is that few would complain about a 'settler' DLC if it FIXED the biggest simple flaw with the game- the unthinkably awful AI system.Ai was never beth's thing, it always years late compared to other games. And i don't think it can be fixed with a free update anyhow. Edited June 13, 2016 by Boombro
AceGoober
As a avid settlement builder I look forward to the incoming workshop DLCs. Marcy will be the prime test subject for Contraptions since she has a negative attitude that needs adjusting. :D Nuka World has also piqued my interest as it appears to be story based. From the E3 showing it would seem there is another vault to explore which I am definitely looking forward to.
Boombro
Yeah, you can easily make great story/quest that make use of the system.
robhartman9
I had never played the DLC's for Fallout 3. I recently downloaded them and have played through 3/5. It took me longer to get everything working right on windows 10 than it did to finish the first one. I think the workshop DLC's should have been part of the original game. By the time they were released I had my fill of settlement building. Far Harbor was a decent effort. I would rather see more like that
zc123
As others have said I wish beth had stuck to the story and quests then left the settlement stuff to the modders. Most of the stuff added for settlements could have been done by modders or was already anyway & the future DLC centered around settlements doesn't seem to be any different.
