Skyrim complete PC crashes

The 4GB patch thingy worked for me, but only worked on the bypassed exe in the game folder, i still get the occasional CTD but much much less, my audio settings are (max) 96KHz and 24bit, and the audio fix only worked for a few, didn't work for most, i think the people it did work for are going to bleat about it more.

This.

Is.

Not.

A.

CTD.

Uh, haven't gotten the Raidmax one yet... the Diablotek is the one I was using. Are you telling me the one I just spent 125 USD might not even work?!

The 600w (previously thought it was 500w due to me mixing up invoices) keeps crapping out on me. It'll randomly stop working altogether.

The 850w (which I should get tomorrow) is HOPEFULLY powerful enough to handle my power needs.

...then there's the mobo... which is beginning to piss me off. Half the time it boots, half the time it doesn't get to bios before crapping out and screaming.

no...no, don't go into a panic. Wait for the 850 and read the specifications before you install. Most 850 have ample current (amps) on the 12V leg, it may even have 2 12V legs. Also look at your video card specs and see what it requires and go from there. As I said earlier, it may just say something like...requires 400 watt PSU minimum.....but, what current (amps) does it require on the 12 volts. I don't know what to tell you on the mother board.

Sorry, I don't want to cause a lot of confusion, just trying to get folks to understand a bit more.

Ah, ok. We just confused each other.

No, the one I have right now is only 20A on 2 12v legs. While the one I just ordered has 4 12v legs 34A on each (or so it says) so it should be good...

As for the motherboard, I just need a decent (somewhat inexpensive) one that's AM3 and ATX sized (forgot to mention that last time, I've had a MSI microATX board and it got REAL HOT real fast. Nothing against MSI though since I've heard about microATX boards overheating).

Leaning towards this mobo

In patch news, it seems they skimmed over the PC issues (Why does no one pay attention to Skyrim-PC's problems enough to fix them?) (still waiting patiently for the patch, though)

I think I found a fix for me. If this has been posted already, I apologize.

So far, I was able to play for a good two hours without any problems. Before that, I couldn't play for 10 minutes without a Black Screen.

Anyways, there's a custom AMD driver released, modified by some guy over at guru3d.

I don't know what exactly he changed, but it fixed all issues for me and even improved my performance a bit.

I have exactly the same problem, all the same symptons. I'm running on a nvidia geforce 9600 GS graphics card.. when I first started I played for maybe 2 and a half hours without crashing, but I had some bad lag at times.. so I decided to update the graphics drivers. It was after doing this that I started to crash every ten minutes.. so currently i'm trying out different drivers as I can't remember which ones I had previously.. so far been unsuccessful.

it's very annoying :/. but yeah just thought i'd comment as for me the problem seems to be with graphics drivers.

^ sorry for the double post. For the first time i've had the same crash OUTSIDE of skyrim. I was installing the drivers, I decided to do a clean install on my nvidia drivers, the computer removed the currewnt drivers and rebooted as it should and turned on again as to install the new drivers.. the screen then went blank and unresponsive as it does on skyrim.. showing me the 'no signal' error.. i'm starting to think mine's hardware. any ideas people?
