RattleAndGrind
Now it might be they had a bad day? I am starting to donate to Mod Creators of specific mods that I feel are worth the $$ to me, in that I would like to see more of "this" or "that" kind of Mods. Both were over $10.00 and I will leave it at that and no, it was not $11.00  But in neither case did I get a "Thanks!" - "Thank You!" or "Why did you do this, this mod is not worth that .. but Thanks!" But sadly neither of them have taken the time. It's been over 1 week to 1.5 weeks with both. Sadly I will not be donating to them again. The Strange thing is - both Mod's Desc. Page encourage "ENDORSE, it means a lot and keeps me motivated and if you want to share of few pennies / dimes, I will not say, "no" to those either." The above is paraphrased, so as to the avoid "Fall Out". Now maybe I just gave to the wrong the Mod Creators? Some people are assholes. I wasn't quite so blunt, but I do agree. Deleted82156User
Those thinking that modders are being elitist, selfish and thinking themselves better then users, because they did not receive a 'thank you' for donations, are leaping to completely false conclusions. You are taking offense based on what is completely imagined insult. You have zero idea what those modders are actually thinking, yet you are so quick to leap to completely unfounded conclusions and based on those get offended and resort to insults and hatred directed towards people that are completely innocent, are not telepathic and have no idea what they did to insult you! People that probably haven't actually contacted you after your donating for the myriad of very valid reasons already brought up in this thread. People who are actually very grateful for your donation. My point is that your idea of being offended by these modders is based on delusion. Perhaps you should stop and think before taking personal offense and at least have actual evidence that offense was actually intended rather then imagining what others are thinking. Arthmoor
As for my "Grow Some Humanity" comment, it was addressed to a specific collection of modders who feel it is beneath them to display good courtesy. I do not know you and up until now, we have had no dealings. So I will ask you to butt out. My comments were not address to you and were not about you.If only you could see the problem with your approach to all of this.... cause the irony here is too rich
twizzOr
I always felt that my donations were my thank you's to authors...no additional contact or you're welcome's (or whatever) necessary. Besides, giving something while expecting something in return, no matter how small, is the disgraciousness the OP mistakenly pins on mod authors. Rethrain
But as I am learning - I grew up in a different generation and I just have to accept that P.K.T. is likely going the way of the DoDo Bird. Nothing to do with generations, really. Take a look at the comment sections of some low-brow newspapers and enjoy seeing every generation provide its fair share of asshats. I couldn't agree more. thunderlord2200
The mod creators that I have donated to have never thanked me and I didn't even miss it. Rather my donation was my thanks to them and in that I felt fulfilled. This is a hobby (or, at least, it's supposed to be) not a business. You make a modification that you like and graciously upload and share it with others who might like it also. It really isn't beholding to you as the creator to go any further to satisfy others. You owe nobody nothing. As a user of that mod you owe the creator nothing as well as this is share and share alike. For we who have no skill in making mods to share back donating is one way that we can show our appreciation to those that do. The Rabbiti was to, but i also have parents that where old enough to be my grand-p's. the younger generation dont understand this or even care like what we used to. i could remember everyone at one time when i was in school asking why i act so old.. xD but eh. i have see how bad the younger generations have been becoming. theres nothing you could do about it. i understand being thankful but everyone nowadays think dif now or there entitled to it even tho they dont act it. tho to me i think they are great full since this might be one way for them to get cash and to me the biggest gift is there mods that made me able to play fallout 4. this game from day one looked and felt like s#*!. but with mods that fixed the running and textures being a issue i could not live with out alot these mods.. (most of them) the game play to me was so bad with really no in-game quest. i would donate money if i had it but im bork at all times i think i heard the same thing about someone being donated to and they dont get the chance to see the name alot of the time. i think it was ddpro.. Nothing I have read in this thread gives me any reason to believe that a quick email with the words "thanks" included is too much to ask. Now before we go back onto the tangent with the I email, you email loop, a non-monitored Gmail account is quick and easy to establish. Just establish a rule to delete mail on receipt. Viola, no email loop. And we know that a email from Joe Schmuck the modder to Little Johnny the gamer does not pass through the Nexus, so Robin will never know. So that "The NEXUS forbids it" excuse is just that, an excuse. So my expectation is that I should receive a "Gracias" or a "Danke" or a "Thanks mate" is not unreasonable. It is a simple courtesy. But what you and several other modders in this thread have done is too try your hardest to convince me that this simple courtesy is too taxing, too time consuming, too difficult, or just too much to do. But I know that to be a lie, because you made the time to cash the check. You and I both know that we all make time for what is important. By implication, this simple courtesy is just not important enough for most modders because they do not make the time to be courteous. They do not sent that email because they simply no not want to be bothered. So please stop lying. I am not stupid. I know very well that if modders wanted to, they could send an email in seconds. But they do not send that email. Why is left to the imagining of the spurned. But when treated rudely, people imagine the worst. Finally, I am convinced that at least more than a few of you ARE elitist ingrates. How do I know? Because some of you herein have taken my money and then (in this very thread) had the temerity to give me gave me that "entitled user" (expletive deleted). I tire of this. I have established that all of the reasons given for not sending that email are nothing more than lame excuses. I have also established that the discourteous behavior of modders is a personal choice made by the individual modder and has nothing to do with Nexus or any of the imaginary obstacles modders have erected to avoid being courteous. Or how about the Pee Wee Herman line. How did that one go? "I know you are, but what am I"? Or perhaps you have a heartfelt rendition of the classic "sticks and stones" saw. I can't wait to see what you brilliant whit has in store for us lowly entitled users. Edited July 5, 2016 by RattleAndGrind
