WhiskeyRiver2
But you -are- a bit of a jerkass. Regardless of how flawed the contest is, or which mods may or may not have had their vote counts inflated via proxy/TOR users/bot nets (doubt anyone would go -that- far, but I've seen the accusation leveled a few times), it's a fact that most of the mods on that page are at the very least decent, and that everyone behind them deserves some measure of respect for the work put in.I for one do not respect theft. GG Neither do I, which is why I started working on MF in the first place - to help clean it up. Those ripped assets were removed MONTHS AGO, well before MF was submitted into the contest. That particular horse has been dead for a while, so quit beating on it. Edit: And no, I'm not speaking for the MF team here - this is just me. glissaman
I think what people fail to realize is that the MF Mod author is a non native english speaker. When they go to bed dreaming up botnet conspiracy theories, Asia is waking up and voting. WhiskeyRiver2
^ That too. Got a friend in an Asia-centered gaming group that's got something like 50,000 members. Do -not- underestimate them.

Let's just label that coincidence. As well ignore the the blatant team aspect. Some people submitted mods with their own work at at least 95% theirs and assets with perms, not 20 or so people. As well ignore the blatant popups for vote begging which is against the rules. And ignore that updating prompts the update per person so they get forced into the popup. As well ignore that Bethesda almost 100% is counting update version downloads so 10k downloads an very easily look like 200k with 35 versions. But let's ignore anything that reeks of scammyness. If he had constantly gained votes and not through apparent divine intervention (we all know gods runs click farms) we wouldn't really be having this discussion. Instead both him and blacksmith magically in the last two days double or triple their vote count. It's about as legit as me joining the f*#@ing clergy. But ignore all dem stuffs. Ignore the 4chan witch hunts etc. ignore nvidias own rules. Lol
WhiskeyRiver2
Y'know, there's a rule that everyone seems to be overlooking, which explicitly states that whoever NVidia put in charge of the contest has/had final say in what mods made it into the finals regardless of anything else. To quote the relevant section from the T&C page: "NVIDIA will have the sole authority and discretion to select all the final entrants, and all decisions of NVIDIA will be FINAL. By entering this Contest, you agree to be bound by the decisions of NVIDIA." Gripe (lol, the proper term for female canines is actually censored here... that's just sad) and whine all you want, but that seems pretty damn clear to me. Arthmoor
Yes, nVidia had sole discretion to choose the finalists. That doesn't mean everyone has to agree with that list. That's also why UFO4P is the only one of the 16 that's not there anymore, because *WE* never entered the contest so they HAD to remove it. Otherwise I'm quite sure one of us could have found a lawyer willing to take the case had they not acted and the prize was awarded fraudulently. It would be convenient for them if they didn't have to award the winner. Like if the winner had to supply proof of permission for all the assets borrowed or if they could just say oh this is a team mod, it's not eligible to win, why did you enter it? glissaman
Reading comprehension seems to be a lost art. From the contest rules:"By entering the Contest, Entrants represent and warrant that they have obtained all of the rights, licenses, and permissions in writing from any person who may have helped create the Entry (or from an appropriate parent/legal guardian if any such person(s) is considered a minor in their eligible country of residence);" As it was Nvida that picked the finalists for their own contest, I would assume they checked to make sure what they were picking was following their own rules. Several of the mods picked seem to have credits, thank yous, etc. and this is certainly far from the first contest of this sort they have run.
