Tins cookiepocolypse is more than a decent quest mod, with over 30 of my build mods merged seamlessly as well as settlement events, optional new loot system and mechanics, all fully customizeable, as well as I believe more content than any of their workshop DLC...

If this was anything but throwing darts at a board I'd be surprised, they didn't even look at some of the entries

DD, I didn't mean my post to sound like your mod wasn't a good quest, dude. I have no doubt that it was. And I am always impressed by your work, mate. (Though this one I haven't actually played yet myself). Mostly I meant mods like the ones I make take many months to build the environments from scratch so a comp like this, so early in the CK's life, is out of the question for me. (I wouldn't have entered it anyway though. I never win competitions. lol)

@T9X69 - My sincere apologies. I mixed up your mod with another mod in the finalist list. I will edit my post. I'm always putting my foot in my mouth. Sorry, mate. (edit) I had not meant offense anyway; It had just made me smile because that's exactly the kind of problem I face in my own modding work.

No worries. It's pretty late here and I was even questioning myself like "Did I have trouble, no wait wtf lol" But I see the mod your talking about now. I personally haven't played it so I won't comment on it. I do know, 2 people I believe, brought up my mod in question due to it possibly breaking the rules with having sexual material. Because there is one note (That's a quote by the way, not that I made up) that has sexual references. But I'm thinking as long as the mod doesn't have you preform those actions that it's okay. Unless of course, you put in an entire pornographic novel. My mod also has a lot of violent references towards children because the real Cannibal preferred children as his victims. Again though, I think because it says "Violent acts towards children" it's acceptable since you're not actually killing children or causing them harm. Then again, I could be completely wrong.

I mean no offense to the author of Pew lasers, but that has no business being a 'top mod' eligible for $10,000.

I absolutely guarantee that my raider workshop add-on for settlements took FAR more effort and adds far more to the game, and I don't believe it shouldve even been considered at this point, as there are some truly great mods out there.

The fact that someone saying pew pew and replacing the laser sound with it is up for serious prizes, is insane. There were other questionable selections as pointed out. Whole thing seems like BS to me, I didnt enter because I figured I would get wrecked by really innovative mods and modders, not by pew pew's....

Seems that competition was nothing more than a bait to have mods posted on beth.net, and it seems it served it's purpose well enough.

Exactly, with this fresh influx Beth will be able to keep good sales for consoles for much longer and will make millions on this. This is the essence, mod authors (me included) done dirty work, Beth capitalized on that. I bet they are really proud what they had done. First - deliberate support of mod theft, and now this. It is clear that all this was done for a reason, and reason is white cash.

What happens if Pew wins the grand prize? Since it states the grand winner will "-have NVIDIA engineering support for their Mod creation." Does that mean they will offer up NVIDIA's services in helping him to further build the pew pew mod?

Lol. This whole thing, is so god damn stupid. I am actually glad that I ran into health issues and didn't complete what I wanted to enter, as it wouldve lost to this horse s#*! and caused me to get really, really mad.

Stop being drama queens. The public can vote for their favorites, and if yours is not getting favorited, then that's that. This topic is becoming a hilarious parade of "my mod deserved it more!", mixed with the usual Bethesda being the devil hallucination.

Just stop it. Don't make it sound like you got screwed over. You risked time and effort at a shot to get major $. And you did not win, that is called opportunity cost.

I think what you don't realize is that there was the potential for modders who have bad computers, or good computers to get an upgrade to further their hobby or passion.

A lot of users were actually screwed over and Nvidia is violating its own Terms of Agreement.

When you know what actually goes into a majority of the mods that have been placed up for the grand prize, there's only two or three that actually deserve to be there.

The entire contest looks as if minimal effort was used to determine who got added, when Nvidia stated they would use their time to both Play, Review, and test each individual mod.

You can see why people are salty when their mod was never even looked at and albums they posted have 0 views.

There was no confirmation if mods were successfully received and eligible, no emails, nothing.

Many people don't even know if their mods actually made it into the entry list. Because there was no confirmation.

Thievery of content, thievery of mods, thievery of assets, and thievery to fallout's modding community.

You're being ignorant and ignoring blatant evidence supporting bad practices for a big company.

1. Getting a new NVIDIA card or PC is not an universal human right. If your PC is too old, buy a new one. You can't just guilt Nvidia into getting a new pc. Seriously WTF

2. You don't get to decide who deserved it. The public does, after Nvidia (who put up the prize money) picks the finalists. Nvidia gets to decide the finalists because it is their rules.

3. If the NVIDIA expert judges play and decide to take one mod over another, it is their right. If you argue against that you are basically arguing whether vanilla or chocolate icecream tastes better.

No justice for hard work. Stolen mods, assets, and shady practices. Bad communication. All I'm saying.

Nvidia may not have chose wrong, but how they chose is something the public wants to know.

The public would also like to know who these 'expert judges' are or if there was even more than one 'judge'.

If mods are indeed stolen, Nvidia is going to sort it out. There are no shady business practices. Nvidia's people get to chose the finalists according to their taste. That's it. Accept it.

What you are trying to do is to weasel-word your opinion into looking like you are the ambassador of the "people". Which you are not.
