Imperial Legion mod

I really would like to get started doing this, even though, like I said, I can't do anything besides give ideas and brainstorm.

I'm afraid to say that if that is all you are experienced at, you won't be of much use for your proposed project. Every project was in part due to the contribution of the whole team with each member knowing at least laymans knowledge of the construction set and various other utilities. If you wish to be taken seriously or even promote the chances of you project enduring into a full fledged mod, it is vital that you ascertain knowledge with the various utilities. Such utilities you must know how to use are

TES 4 construction set tutorial

Nifskope Tutorial

Blender download

Blender tutorial

Knowledge of the tes construction set is mandatory and I highly advise that should you consider taking on this project that you learn how to use it. Nifskope and Blender are optional but are still valuable assets. Nifskope is important as it is "a graphical program that allows you to open NIF files, view their contents, edit them, and write them back out again. You can use it to quickly make changes to specific properties of a NIF file such as changing the texture, adding translucency, and more. A 3D view of the contents of the NIF file allows you to preview your changes instantly".-elder scrolls wiki

Blender is a 3d program where you can create you own 3d meshes. I know this is all very complicated but such is the price in endeavoring on such a project. If you need any additional advice or help, personal message me. :thanks: for your time. Chow.

But, you see, where most people will grow up to be making games and things of that nature, I will be writing novels and stories. That is my strong point. I cannot, CANNOT get the ghist of HTML coding or any real data handling, for that matter; my dad is a computer programmer and he tried to show me some of the stuff one time. It went in one ear and out the other, pretty much. My goal is to assemble a team of people willing to do the project while I work out the basic plotline and twists and turns of the faction; which, in my eyes (and it should be to everyone elses) is a VERY important part. Otherwise, we'd all be stuck trying to make sex mods and new weapons. Without a plot and storyline, the game is nothing. That's what I do; storyline. Plot development. Character backgrounds.

3) Make sure YOU are doing something, and I don't mean providing an idea: Whose project is going to get more interest, someone who posts a progress list, screenshots, and shows clear evidence of work on it, or someone who just writes a single line idea and expects everyone else to do all the real work. This is especially important if you're asking for major work.
6) Don't get too ambitious. It's very easy to start listing all the cool features you want to have and congratulating yourselves on what an amazing mod you're about to make. But be realistic, these things are a lot more complicated than you think. Most of these ambitious mods fail before they really get anywhere, and for good reason. Think very carefully about what you realistically can do, and cut down your ambitions. It's better to produce a smaller mod than to fail at making a bigger one.

7) Use the talents you have. This ties into not getting too ambitious... take a look at the people you have and their talents, and give yourself a sanity check. Can you actually do all these things you're dreaming of? It's very easy to say "I'll have X new models". But do you have someone with the right software and skills to make them? And make them well? Don't count on the miracle of someone showing up to join your team, odds are we won't.

It's best if the leader know a little bit of everything, not expert knowledge, but the basics. If you're just going to ignore everything and let everyone else do the real work, it will fail, and story development is not real work. The mod will continue just as well without a "story teller." Don't expect that you're the only one who can make stuff up.

Hey, I never said I wanted to be the leader. I want this to be a gathering place for people who have this kind of work in their abilities. This is just my idea. My suggestion. And remember, at first, all I was asking for was a one to ten rating of the idea. If people wouldn't mind having a brainstormer as the leader, sure. I wouldn't mind it; but if I have to sit behind the lines and let someone else take control of it? Alright! Just as long as the PEOPLE GET WHAT THEY WANT.

Actually, Ninja, I've had a powerful imagination since I was a kid. I've wrote several short stories already, one of which was a Final Fantasy VII alternate story that was actually published in a small gamer magizine. I've had my stories complimented on by other writers, I post them up online all the time to let people look like. As a matter of fact, I have one posted here, on this very website, dealing with an Oblivion storyline. So it's quite within my power to become a novelist; hell, even the career aptitude test I took not too long ago said I should find a job that has something to do with writing.

Hatted Man then. XD;;; I made a mistake in reading it; I expected something like that to come from Ninja.

Anyways, can we start putting calls out to modders we know of who can handle the diffrent things we need? We need, what, a mesher and someone who can handle textures? Plot design and storyline, I can do, although it wouldn't hurt to have a few other people who could have a hand in that and could help brainstorm with me. I may be good at it, but I'm not always right.

the parakete islands of the guatamalen mountain range, south east quarter, but i shouldnt have to tell you

Yes, i know where the caraboo itself comes from, but why would you use the diameter of a caraboo as the final variable? When i did you're equation my caraboo was big enough to eat the entire solar system....

To Ninja, sorry about the argument, I'v just been beyond stress the past few weeks. :wallbash:

To cyronarxes, well put, but even just the plot would be an excellent resource. Especially seeing as I have no clue how imperial quests would go, mainly because i spend my time on the other side of the law in RPG's.
