zstephable
Hey, I'm relatively new to PC gaming and want to buy my first computer to run Fallout on as my others have been potatoes. I've been looking around and this seems to be the best for my budget which is a maximum of $1000. The computer is a ASUS K501UW-AB78. You can find it on Amazon. Let me know what you guys think and whether or not It's worth it. The computer, which has a Nvidia GTX 960m, can run Skyrim, Fallout 3, and NV at ultra settings 60fps, but Fallout 4 at ultra settings 30fps. I want to download alot of mods and I'm not sure if this will work, I'd like to have a GTX 980m but I don't know. PS. A laptop is a must, no big computers. Sorry if this is inconvenient. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01DT49XN8/ref=psdc_565108_t3_B015PYYDMQ
JimmyRJump
Wrong forum amigo... post your query roundabout here  Personally, I'd never buy a laptop for gaming for the simple reason most laptops can't be upgraded in the GPU department. A 960m is weaker than its desktop counterpart, so, don't expect too much of it... Edited September 5, 2016 by JimmyRJump
Rabbit1251
What Jimmy says about the laptop is true. You'll pay more for the laptop convenience so you will have to settle for less horsepower inside of it. Buy it only if you really want the laptop part. Also, don't but your machine just to play Fallout 4. Buy it with enough power to play the next game around the corner. Otherwise in another few months you will find yourself once again playing catch-up and buying expensive upgrades for it like I just did. Make sure this one will last you for a few years. The RabbitAgreed on buying a laptop solely for gaming not a good idea. Less upgrade potential and they run hot. That being said, I haven't owned a desktop in 15 years just because I require mobility. Fonger
Also, don't but your machine just to play Fallout 4. Buy it with enough power to play the next game around the corner. the official drunken lie™ specifications for Fallout 4 are for the game around the next corner and the corner after that so a machine designed to play FO4 well will probably last 4+years before you seek to upgrade
JimmyRJump
Can a mod/admin merge this topic with the same one by the same OP right here? Doesn't add to the clarity for the OP when there's two fora with the same post...
