RejectedCamel
Wow, I didn't realise there were so many older gamers around! I'm 16 myself, it's good to see that older people still enjoy games. I've hopefully got a lifetime left to play then http://www.thenexusforums.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/psyduck.gif
BarefootWarrior
This fifty year old is in the first age group that have gone to work and worked with computers for twenty years or more VoltDude, many of us are pretty computer literate. Yay for the old farts club! Heh...yep, same here. I remember my first one transistor radio, it was a Tonex. While I was in broadcast, I had to learn how make the transition to digital technology, we had to make digital technology work with linear..I mean tubes, we called it hybrid technology. I still have my old Atari 2600, it still works, and my TI-994A computer. Yes, we old farts are much more computer literate then some younger folks give us credit for. Sometimes, I wish i didn't know...LOL! I have worked with computers for twenty years too. The first system I learned on was Wang system that had eight inch floppies to boot up on, the disk drive sounded like a machine gun going off. Now I build my own systems and work in Graphic Design and learning 3D modeling. got a bit off topic here, sorry, but it made me laugh. But I appreciate the sentiment anyway. Edited December 3, 2011 by BarefootWarrior
Roxian
I'm 24 myself. But damn it's so awesome to see all ages play Skyrim. You don't hear so often from your "age group". Very nice to see. My mom is 51 and I showed her Skyrim last night, she just seemed to really love it, started to ask questions about it... :) Normally she casually plays games like Age of Empire and stuff but I decided she really needed to see this. I'm going to get her a copy for christmas if she hasn't gotten it by then. Now that's what beeing a good daughter is all about, right. :D
Sabatasso
I'm still running around in fur (bandit loot) and using steel weapons. I decided not to improve any gear until I actually encountered some real resistance, but I've boosted my bow with smithing (34 at the moment) and expensive arrows, and rely heavily on sneak, potions and poisons. I did not like Master difficulty, though, not because I mind being oneshotted, but the fact that I could not ever do the same in return put me off. If I am gonna be fragile, so should they imo. I want "equal" terms more than anything in a game. I've stopped boosting health at 150, and have 180 with gear, and after downloading a trap mod, I can die from almost any trap I encounter. My stamina is insane too, btw, as I never increased magicka. So a lvl44 with 5 leves in health and the rest stamina, you do the math ;) I'm 32yo btw., and I found that I need to give myself intended handicaps to enjoy the game. EDIT: I also used console to this, to prevent myself from falling for temptation;player.setav magicka 10player.setav (all magic skills) 5 Edited December 3, 2011 by Sabatasso
elleonblanco
Well I agree with the OLD WARRIORS CLUB. I am 50. Voltdude.... I have computers in the garage older than you. I cut my teeth on am IBM 370. I kind of guessed there were a lot of older players like me out there. Who said great gaming was only for kids? As for my opinions on several things about Skyrim.. STEAM is definitely one of my primary concerns. The integration of Steam Workshop to the CK can only create more problems. I loved the Half Life franchise but hated the fact that STEAM had anything to do with it. By the way been playing all Bethesda titles since Oblivion. Missed out on Morrowwind but I think I'll live. Guest MajinCry
I'm winning! 15 years old! If a fishing mod (One that adds a tonne of fish, and a fishing rod) gets made, my dad will be all over Skyrim. He spent over 50 hours in that fishing hole in Twilight Princess :P
