ZippyDSMlee
Greetings. I just wanted to ask why on https://www.nexusmods.com/games/? it shows a red shield in the navigation bar of chrome that indicates that the page is trying to load scripts from unauthorized sources. This did not appear previously. That is quite strange. Usually this sort of thing is due to an ad. When I have seen that icon it has been from an ad trying to forcibly redirect me or open a popup. I now always run 2 adblockers due to having been served trojans and other malware from website advertising, and I am not talking clicking on the ad. I have gotten viruses simply from the banner ad rendering on my browser. I associate that icon with potential bad actions on the part of advertisers. I feel bad for sites like Nexus since it is not their fault rather it's the careless advertising provider at fault for not preventing this kind of problem and typically people will blame the website if bad ads show up. It seems to me like advertising network providers do little to nothing to stop malware creators from exploiting their networks. I additionally use Sandboxie & Shadow Defender if I need to visit potentially questionable/unsafe websites. Is it possible to see more info about it? I think Nexus has a link for reporting bad advertising. On a side note this reminded me to go buy Supporter membership. i dont support this idea at allI guess I am naive about this stuff but may I ask why? Actually in that SnB topic I was thinking some of my posts were kinda pointless so I was wishing I can just delete them. I just deleted the settlement I was working on and disabled that mod anyways so my posts were unnecessary. I had a tech issue thread which I resolved but I doubt anyone else would have that same issue so I feel like the topic is pointless too. I can feel the bait raising in doing it but don't most systems let mods see the newly deleted topic/threads that way they can whack problems, or is just that more work?Other forums I used keeps archived stuff so if for example somebody is flaming people then deleting the post you can report them and say in the notes that they are doing that then the moderator will check archive and find it. This usually means heightened punishments since it's a deliberate action on their part to escape punishment(ie The offending users actions demonstrate that they are knowingly violating the rules and are trying to do so anyways plus avoid punishment). I actually had typed a bit about this but I deleted it because I didn't think there are any people around who would be foolish enough to try such lame tricks on the Nexus forum. Any who would be are probably long gone by now. On the other site you'd get a instant suspension if you make a flagrantly bad post insulting somebody then delete it(with idea that recipient sees the post but not the mods) because it's a double offense, the rule violated by the post in question plus attempting to circumvent the ToU. And if your account goes into "Purgatory" an Admin will go over everything (I'm assuming they'd check the deleted stuff). Purgatory means user's banned unless the Admin decides to let them come back. They review your total history as a user. I've never gotten moderated so don't know more of the details. I'd seen a couple trolls use the post-deleting for bad reasons but they end up getting banned soon after. It's a Final Fantasy board so the trolling is really bad there. But I'm sure Nexus' ToU already would cover this kind of stuff. Like this:If you make things particularly and unnecessarily hard for Nexus staff we may just decide to remove any/all your files and be done with you.If it is a pain then offending people would probably just be gone the first time they do it. It would be explained to us via a ToS update. But I understand if Nexus does not wish to enable post/topic deletion. I haven't been an active user for very long so maybe I just don't know about this stuff. I never really see trolling going on around here so I figure they all must have been banned already. Have to say I do like the way this place handles names, mods thinking "make up yo gdarn minds already! "LOLI do wonder if I should have gone for a new username. I feel like with Final Fantasy's awful track record recently I sort of wonder if Final Fantasy usernames might get associated with trolling. And it'll be 10 times worse if FF VII Remake turns out bad too. I am basically only an FF fan of the old school ones. I want to get Premium but low on cash, guess I might make new account eventually and just make that one Premium. I've added onto my username over the years, zippy from 96 to 99 or so, zippyDSM form 99 to 2004 or so then zippyDSMlee, DSM= da strange mage. For the one or 2 years I RP'd LOL. I don;t RP anymore but I write and my MCs tend to be insane mages/techies LOL Personally+quirks= general user name then tack on a word/name that revolves around a hobby or fav thing or a word/name that's part of you(I have 3 names plus family name so I can spar one LOL). Or do both. Some find it harder to do than others, arists are crazy so they change names based on the wind sometimes LOL..

Starting to wonder if people see the name and go "oh a troll/****poster/foolish person." On other sites it does seem a bit like the FF username people are only around for the LOLs or causing trouble due to boredom. If I become a mod author I don't want to assumed to be a troublemaker or a fool. I'm kind of not really an FF fan anymore, I only like IV-X, X-2(somewhat), XII & FF Tactics. I hated FFXIII, didn't buy the sequels and I ignored the MMOs. FF mobile games like FFRK & FFBE being simple gambling-based microtransaction cash grabs. I was also quite disappointed with FF XV and am finding it hard to be excited about VII Remake. I replay the old ones from time to time but am having less interest in the newer ones Edited October 7, 2017 by fftfan

I replay the old ones from time to time but am having less interest in the newer ones I'm 43ish going on 10 maybe 11, I don't mind being foolish it is what I do after all. Some kinda have to find themselves or figure out their thing, its all good. No worries, be you, do your thing. if the name needs changing change it, if not is cool. I loved FF1, FF4 is my all time fav with FF9 being my 2nd all time fav FF, I liked FF5 for the freedom it gave, FF6 had the ebst story in any FF, FF7 was solid enough but I gots issues with it, FF8 I hate the mechanics but I must say after playing through the whole story its not bad at all just took me 9 years with a few restarts... I love FFX's sphere grind and custom equipment ,characters are a bit flat story is just okay to good, not much better than 9s even as nuts as it was. I love the gambits, combat and level design of 12 the rest of it is generic MMO crude, 13 is bad, 15 is mehy. I want to chose TB/basic FF combat I don;t want a DMC clone.... I hated crisis core BTW horrid mechanics. I'm more an RPG traditionalist give me turn based so I can fine tune combat or real time pause command more like an RTS, Dragon Age Origins was last Bioware RPG I loved, if just for the tactical top down control system, that in an FF game or any JRPG would be to awesome for words.... Shabdez
I wanted to suggest a feature on the Files -> Top Files part of the Nexus that allows to directly go to a mod´s "POSTS" subsection instead of the description page (by clicking mod name) or the images (by clicking on the image). singjai108
I was looking for a topic that came up in my Google search, "Beginner's Guide to Xedit merged patch/WRYE bashed patch..."And when I click on it, I got "You do not have permission to view this topic."https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/5479362-beginners-guide-to-xedit-merged-patch-wrye-bashed-patch-used-together/I WAS logged in at the time. Trosski
The favorites tab in the new layout seems to have a problem populating when moving from game to game. I have added several games, and their slots show up as empty when viewing other games.

STURMKATTEN
Hi guys! I love it when things get a revamp. I'm looking at the new layout and I'd just like to suggest that you keep the colours dark. I notice a lot of white and bright, I know it's difficult to pick the right shades and colours etc.. but I clicked on the button that offered me a peek at it and the first thing I noticed was my headache coming on. It seems too bright for me, sorry  Overall though I like the layout. I think it's nice. Maybe try to darken the bright borders and strips of white, it's painful to look at for me, anyway. Others will obviously think differently and I'm glad it doesn't hurt their eyes, at least  I think something that could help is to tone down the white lettering a little more. It's too bright for my eyes and I'm not old at all lol! Have a look at the shade of white Steam uses, that doesn't seem to be a problem for me. This actual forum page I'm typing this on here is absolutely perfect but still, the lettering is very bright and I reckon you could tone that down a bit more which would help a lot of people's eyes and headaches! :) Edited October 25, 2017 by STURMKATTEN
