PrometheusTS
So I've made some progress on the UV mapping, its slow going though, so its going to take a fair while to do. :wallbash:what are you using for uvmapping? There are some programs out that make the life easier , I have tried severall but I then returned to 3dsmax .. I find that it has awesome tools for uvmapping and honestly it makes it very fast usually for me to export texture maps layout grids , select seams , pelt mapping etc... huntsman2310
I'm using Blender currently, I have made a bit of progress, but you can see pretty clearly where the UVs are still misaligned, usually by a few degrees. Are you using the demo of 3DS or did you buy it?

Ghogiel
honestly none of those would be better than UVing Blender. Blender can do a pelt map function, you just select edges, mark seam, relax all that sort of thing. Blender is unorthodox in... well everything.. but it does do things. Fairly directly actually. It's just a bit.. well that's another topic.. As for auto unwrappers, blender had more accurate algorithms in their UV tools months before there were plugins for max doing using the same math, like LSCM or ABF in roadkill. But the built in max UV tools are pretty sound(though if you let me complain about them I will! grrr)

I find them really great , I tired uvmaster , uvtexture etc but I gone back to the Max tools , You just need to select the edge , expand the faces and pelt map .... totally fast and easy .... huntsman2310
I'm not as well versed in UV mapping. What is pelt mapping? Is that essentially marking seams logically on a object?
