Fkemman11
From what I have read, the average age of gamers is somewhere in their 20's. I don't think that is completely accurate. But, what is clear is that there are a large # of adults playing FO4. In FO3, Beth included both slavery and prostitution themes. These are conspicuously absent from FO4. Yet, the game still received an "M" rating. How? From what I can tell the game has been "toned down" in everyway possible. Anyone else seeing something I'm not? steve40
From what I have read, the average age of gamers is somewhere in their 20's. Not even close. It's somewhere near the mid 30's, depending on which country etc. In Australia it was 33 in 2015-2016. Edited January 29, 2017 by steve40
Vormina
You must be playing a different fallout 4, mine has slavery, profanity, violence, extreme violence, dismemberment, cannibalism, gore, and drugs galore. My character spends half her time hopped up on Psycho Jet while eating people/mutants/ghouls that she just blasted the gray matter out of. ;)
farts30
The "toned down" comes from roleplaying a suburbanite parent. The character is so pleasant and milquetoast that the only way to play anything different is to avoid all dialogue with NPCs and quest givers. Everything is tongue and cheek first.. grit and hardship are second if present at all. I never felt any sympathy for anyone in the commonwealth..just shoot n loot. mrmini
I don't see it toned down that much. I think at worst dialogue needed more than yes, no, maybe, sarcastic. But short of that, the Commonwealth is chock full of gritty tales, I do realize you gotta look for them more, and I haven't played Fallout 3 in a very long time but it seems the same. taryl80
The gunners are also slavers from time to time. So you have already slavery in the vanilla game. If you need a proof for it, look at the cages in quincy. They are empty but I am sure they have been used before for capturing humans from quincy after the quincy massacre. What sexual topics matters so is that more a problem of the gaming industry as from fallout. The most games have no problem to let the user be a part of extrem violance (like fallout, I mean exploading heads, cannibalism and so on...) but they have fear to let the user see a nipple . I hope for some lore-conform mods to that topic in fallout 4. Edited January 29, 2017 by taryl80
Fkemman11
O.K. 1) Yes. You SEE slavery. But, I have not seen an option to enslave anyone- like you did with Paradise Falls. Also, I don't see the Synths as slaves any more than your pc is. In FO3 Stuper-Mutants had an agenda to enslave humans so they could be transformed. Paradise Falls had the mindset that if I'm stronger than you, your going to put on this goddam collar and become a slave. With FO4, it just seems like some silly raider s***. 2) Yes. There are a lot of drugs. But other than Raiders and Cait, you don't see the gritty side of it; like finding people that OD'd or have a serious addiction. I mean, I know first hand that drug addicts will do just about anything to get their next fix.You discover this early in Megaton. The guy stealing from his family to support his habit. 3) I can think of several instances in FO3 where sexual themes were not just alluded to- but, on full display. One of the first chars you meet in MegTon is Nova- a Ho. Later you meet Ducav. There are also a few rumors thrown in there about somebody doin or wantin to do somebody else. In FO4, the only char that says anything about sex is Cait again. Hopefully, this will sort of show what I mean by "Toned-down ".
Ondrea
Maybe they were aiming for a broader audience or just wanted to do things differently. Many adults don't want that stuff in their game, so it's not just directed at teenagers. I didn't stick long with FO3 because I didn't enjoy it, but do enjoy FO4. Just a different game. taryl80
-I don´t wanna have cannibalism in games.-I play always on the good site (sometimes I hate myself for that:). So my games don´t need any form of "to be the a.ss.hole" options in any way (in dialogues as example or queststages). So... Can we delete this conctent (or just not implement this content) please too? No? Good! Because even I never use cannibalism, or even I never enslave people we should be able to see it (and be able to end this behavior truth quests if we like [like in Fallout New Vegas there we can kill tons of Slavers^^). I hope that modders will pick this topics up in the future and built something to it. Besides that, the game is already in my country rated as 18+. So... In my eyes, Bethesda should not neglect any topic. Edited January 29, 2017 by taryl80
