ThetaOrionis01
There were some changes to AFs in the last expansion, so you really want to look for a QR setup. Scrapheap Challenge is usually a good place to go for inspiration on ship fittings: http://scrapheap-challenge.com/viewtopic.php?t=21430 BTW - what are you planning to use the ishkur for? PvP, level 3/4 missions, ratting?
TheTerminator2004
I was gonna say, those fittings look a bit outdated... though I thought that was more because of the nos (they were nerfed since then if i remember correctly) than any changes to AFs... I cant afford to use it for pvp - just the 15mil for the ship itself is more than id like to risk for a ship - so I imagine level 3s, if I have the skills (I imagine I'd need T2 blasters for that, rather than named or T1?), or possibly ratting. I know I dont have anywhere near the skills for level 4s, so I'm not even gonna try those :P Those fittings on SHC look pretty decent, I'll probably use one of them if ever I'm rich enough to risk it in pvp :)
samroski
I found a Gallente frigate called Navitas in a hanger. I had bought it ages ago- but then realized that I did not have the skills to fly it. Took it out for a spin. It looks like a fish, and I really like that. http://i39.tinypic.com/md1oqo.jpg

What really irritated me was that all the cargo I had was the result of a 45 jump trip... and I was 4 jumps away from getting back home again when I got killed  So, let this be a lesson to all you newer players... dont enter lowsec in a ship full of expensive fittings you went to great lengths to get hold of ;) lol
samroski
So, let this be a lesson to all you newer players... dont enter lowsec in a ship full of expensive fittings you went to great lengths to get hold of ;) lolThough it appears that the one person who has not learned this lesson even after a year of playing eve is yourself :) You got to stop dying my friend. Especially when in an expensive ship with all your life savings. Maybe stop taking short cuts through low sec? How about using jump clones? TheTerminator2004
I couldnt help going into lowsec - I had goods there which needed collecting. But I should probably have left the rest of the stuff in highsec first xP Ahh well, you live and learn.Or in my case, die and forget... lol
samroski
Have been training to fly a freighter for the last 10 days, and I thought it may be a good idea to get help from my corp to build one. I calculated that at Jita prices the raw materails would cost me about 760 million ISK- that that would save me about 140 million- as the going price of a Charon is about 900 million. My friend Chandra spent days hauling tritanium and other minerals from Heimatar (where Maula and Chandra had large stores) to Forge (constrcution site) using his Industrail. While I mined away like crazy and did some hauling from nearby Jita. We managed to accumulate 30 million units of tritanium and some other stuff, but that was less than one third of the required amount. The conclusion: it takes a freighter to build a freighter. Hauling large amounts in puny industrails is simply torture. Chandra was doing 90 minute round trips and even hooked up a treadmill to his system to ensure that no time was wasted during these trips. Now I have all these minerals (and their bill to pay) and have decided to just buy the Charon when the time comes. I figured that if I spend this much time on my 300+ market orders I'd make twice the 140 million I expect to save. And when I did get back to trade I found that in the last 2 weeks nearly all my market orders had been undercut and am thus moving from trade hub to hub managing my orders. Though why would anybody go to such bother for 140 million profit? Weeks of mining is required to collect the ore, and then you need all these god-skills to build one. I suppose once you realize this, each ship exists more tangibly, and is precious maybe just because of the many man-weeks/months that have gone into it's fabrication. TheTerminator2004
So, my account expired some time last night. Went to resubscribe today, guess how much it costs? £13! THIRTEEN POUNDS! Its outrageous lol... once upon a time you could get 90 days of gametime for £15... its mad! CCP really need to adjust their pricing to make up for the fact that the euro's worth so much more now. Because I can't afford to carry on playing at this price :( EDIT: also - YAY - http://myeve.eve-online.com/devblog.asp?a=blog&bid=621 :D
samroski
EDIT: also - YAY - http://myeve.eve-online.com/devblog.asp?a=blog&bid=621 :DYAAAAAAY!!!!!! Can't wait- will fianlly get to train all those pesky little skills. I gave myself a one year eve subscription as a birthday present - so I am okay for a while :) I now have enough to buy GTCs with ISK, but have decided to spend it on in-game stuff- otherwise I'll end up using game time to buy game time and so on. Maybe in another year I'll come up with better ways to make money, and have enough for both GTCs and in-game stuff... I suggest you dig deep and get a 6 month/year subscription- which is more economical. The main issue is that UK decided to stick to Sterling 10 years ago- and you are now paying for this :)
