Axisdeath
I love my anime, and honestly, when i see anime mods It's like I'm a kid in a candy store. "Get Your Anime Into My Skyrim." Is my motto, and quite frankly I hate it when i go onto a really well made ANIME STYLE mod and I see someone cursing for no reason saying how they have to dig through crap(and other offensive words) mods to get to "good" mods. (Note that I Do condone the use of curse words at all time, except when aimed at anime. It may be biased, but it's damn well me.) I mean honestly, if your going to take the time to put down a mod that you disagree with, and not even give it a running chance, your just wasting your time, and the time of everyone around you. Quite frankly, I think some of the more anime inspired armors look F'in awesome. I LOVE them. But, if you don't like it, or anime isn't your thing, then i can RESPECT that, i just ask that you RESPECT my own love for animes. My opinion, is that anime is a new level of cartoon that America could never reach, and in it's self is a work of art with great story, great action, or great comedy all depending on what I'm in the mood for. And I would do anything to see mods of the anime nature continue for a very, very long time, so please, don't dis the anime.
rpger30
To each their own. There really needs to be a section specifically for mods like this though. I really don't need to "give anime mods a chance" at all. I already know I don't like them, but there is no way to filter them out. Edit: It does seem kinda silly for people to post harsh negativity in the comments section for a mod they don't like. TimF
Idea of anime mods (not Japanese cartoons or comics themselves, of course) disgust me, but I don't rage in the comments about it. I just don't use em. Funny thing is that OP curses people who curse Anime mod. Recursion 8) Also, you can't ask anyone to respect something they don't. JimboUK
Live and let live, those who complain about certain types of mods have no understanding of what modding is all about. It's changing the game to suit your own preferences, not to suit the preferences of some random stranger who seems to be under the impression that people actually care what they think. Ignore them, if you check those who do the bitching you'll find most tend to be those who have contributed nothing whatsoever to the community. Oh and if they're doing that bitching in a comment thread report them, help clean the place up.
nosisab
Actually I love anime as I love Japanese CRPGs (I must have played almost all ranging from SNES to PS2)... still it does not make anime like stuff in TES games "fitting" if you do understand me. There is no judgement here if they should be used or not, it is personal choice. About having sections to them, maybe but on the other side we should ask for a section for good mods and another for bad mods... don't know if that's good idea. You ask for mutual respect but in the same breath, you disrespect Western animation and tout the superiority of anime... Clearly the irony was lost on you... Expressing yourself like a rabid anime fanboy isn't going to help your case. To each their own. There really needs to be a section specifically for mods like this though. While I'm an anime fan myself, I'm not such a fanboy that I believe everything is made better by mixing the anime aesthetic into it. The anime/JRPG-style mods should have their own section. Non-anime fans can more easily avoid them, anime fans can find them more easily; everyone's happy.
JetsuSeal
Cartoon Animation modifications can be repulsive in any game that was not made for it. When I play Skyrim I am eager to indulge my brain by allowing myself to believe I am a 20-35 year old intrepid, burly, callous, filled with war wounds, and thirsty-for-a-good-battle adventurer. Hard handed from clasping a blade in too many fights. And that deep roaring voice when I commit a critical hit upon my foe and watch him fall before me on this knees right before involuntarily kissing my blood saturated feet. Would you get this feeling if you saw Pan from Dragon Ball Z (best anime of all times, in my opinion) flying in from nowhere and releasing a energy ball? Goku actually sounds like the adventurer I described, however, Skyrim, filled with creatures that he would see the same way we see cave men, is not the place for him.I remember people make Anime mods for GTA: SA... what? Anime mods in Skyrim is a ridiculous idea, nonetheless, I will not and would not insult someone mods because of MY opinions. In GTA Modding we about 30 different filters to make sure we only see the mods we WANT to see. I want to see mods for armor not a poorly designed version of Inuyasha. Better filtering would be nice. Report simpletons.
MacKom
+1 on better filtering. That would be...swell. ^_^ And now I`d like to pitch in on the subject, if you don`t mind.I never wrote a bad comment bashing somebody's mod, nor will I do it in the future.Just b/c I don`t like it, it dosen`t mean that everybody won`t. I just keep browsing on. But (since this is kinda a chance to express my thoughts and opinions, as the question has been asked), here is why I don`t like anime mods...nor I ever will. 1). The looks. There is just something creepy (IMO) with characters who have HUGE eyes and tiny noses and lips. It makes them look child-like. (Eyes are, in fact, our only body part which never grows - that`s why kids have "big eyes".). Which brings us to putting said characters in sexual context. For instance, that "Elin" race from Terra...basically, a race that looks like 5 YO girls wearing skimpy outfits. And you can see their underwear. Am I the only one who finds this disturbing? 2). Sex, sex, sex. Practically every outfit that I`ve seen (made for both male and female characters) is sexed-up. Yea, female armors have HUGE shoulder plates...but their b00bs are hanging out there. And their booties. Oh, and don`t forget high heels, b/c...well, they are just SO practical on an armor. And your typical male character will not pass on a chance to show his super ripped upper body. 3). No sex. Ironically - male and female characters...look the same. Pretty, glamorous, shiny, with lipstick, silky (LONG!!!) hair and curly eyelashes. B/c that`s sexy.Well, That considered sexy, anyways. 4). Bigger is better. It dosen`t matter that your super skinny and frail character with huge knockers looks like she can barely pick up a toothpick, she is wielding a 23 foot sword that would actually weigh like a small truck with no problems! Oh, and she never passes a chance to sound like a porn star while wielding it. If she looks the part, why not sound the part as well, right? 5). Hair. There is no amount of hair products on this planet that could make your hair retain that shape. You know what shape I`m talking about. And I could go on and on...but I won`t. What I said already might raise some eyebrows, and I don`t want to upset or insult people here. I`m here to enjoy the game. Anime-free, in my case. Dambuster
In my opinion Nexus would do well to change it's adult filter to adult and kinky and add another filter for completely different aesthetics (anime/humungous swords) although the second one is could cause some contention. I like anime in what I have watched of it (does studio Ghibli count as anime?) but I don't wish it to be in my game. That being said anyone touting their mods superiority or whatever is obviously to be ignored. As long as anime mods have the word anime in their title I'm fine after all I do find it slightly irritating to click on some armour mod hoping for something new or another mods and see something like anime. That being said I'd never curse someone for using it and it only wastes 10 seconds of my time but I can also understand why people see it as frustrating I can also understand the irritation of some mod consumers who feel that they would rather see modders but work into the kind of things beth trailed in Game Jam rather than anime - but they don't really have any right to feel that way :P
SubjectProphet
I hate Anime, period. Every body mod seems to focus off of anime though, which really ticks me off. I hope Skyrim doesn't turn into a paradise for anime mods, or I quit modding forever.
