Am trying to play the game with the new high-rez addon.

Have they really broken the game that a large amount of the add-ons no longer work?

Dark face bug,

Presets don't work.

Looks menu doesn't work properly.

Have deleted the game.

Too much effort needed to correct the game to my standards.

May come back to it at future date.

It has really, really annoyed me.

They did exactly the same with Skyrim.

Why can't they just leave the games alone and let modders do the upgrades?

It's the modding of the game that is almost always the cause of these problems. The game works fine for me. The same for Skyrim (the original).

My game takes 6 minutes to load up. Then the menu's hang for like 2 minutes. Then the sound cuts out. smh...

for me the same. works fine with all content dlc and my 128 plugins (mods).

works perfectly fine for me as well. 255 Plugins, and 335 active mods. all mods > 255 are texture mods (i am a hardcore modder, constantly changing mods, my game and likewise skyrim never has less mods then its maximum)

 

no high res dlc though, don't need it or want it, my game looks far superior to what it would like with high rez dlc anyways.

 

with all the 4k texture packs i am using however, my vram is at 8 gig usage, and ram is at 5 gig usage, and no issues at all

 

basically currently at my limit on vram gtx 1070, but still a lot of system ram left (16 gig)

 

case in point, never settle for bethesda version of high res textures, their base game textures were dropping fps, when you could get a 2k alternative that looks better, and performs better (vivid landscapes for example). so basically its inevitable that their 4k texture overhaul, would be greatly worse, but you do have many alternatives, which again look far superior. the fact that their high res, requires a gtx 1080 and a 6 core processor (minimum), lets you know that their high res are most likely 4k and 8k, probably unoptimized textures, since they require a 11 gig vram card, so this can only equal bad performance. theirs always an alternative, that is almost always better.

 

if the base game is already bad (performance wise), i would not even attempt to get something that would make it worse, this is exactly whats on offer here. with the high rez texture pack, that is aimed at the minority. i am pretty sure almost everyone suffers from bad performance in urban areas, i can only imagine that this high res dlc would only make this considerably worse.

This "high res" DLC is complete crap. They are just raw files and will murder your system. They were not designed to play with.
