Great job with the sites Robin, it's incredible what you and the Nexus team have done and continue to do!

One thing that I would REALLY like to see sometime in the future is some sort of "top comment" function like YouTube has. Currently, it is a real pain for mod users and authors alike to have to navigate through long lists of comment threads for reported bugs, solutions to those bugs, or highly-rated suggestions from other members. If those comments were brought to the top of the comment thread by being up-voted by other members, it will definitely save mod users and authors time from having to keep explaining themselves for frequently asked questions and such.

These are not bugg list but rather improvements that nexus needed:

I might be wrong with this because these may be a vip features.

1. Ajax/api submit button - If you endorse a file, it will automatically update the button count number and the endorse/un-endorse "word" without manually refreshing the page. This is also true to the vote button.

2. This is for a single site with two games or more. In the download history or similar page that enable you to view your downloaded files, it would be nice to have a column if the file is tagged under Oblivion or Morrowind. Or do it like this:

Better Pirates Beta [Oblivion]

Prancing Ash Inn [Morrowind]

3. Hide the complete history button under the download history page or similar pages.

if ( IS_VIP )

{

print show_button

}

4. In the tracking centre, it would be nice to add a column to sort out the list:

a. by title

b. by download rate

c. by author

Also, if you click on the mod title, a dropdown menu will prompt for the following info:

a. last download

b. last upload

c. version etc.

5. This might not necessary (since i believe nexus protects pages in client side and server side as well) but it's nice to see a cleanly coded site with perfect error reporting. Protect these pages or similar ajax request page from direct access add add a php 404 referrer:

The beta site looks really good. I could only test so much, given its limited functionality. For instance, I didn't try to download a file as I wasn't sure that would work. I was able to log in successfully. In particular, I really like how the "Latest Files" command had been reworked to go beyond 10 screens as there have been some days here recently when you received more than 10 screens of changed files in a single day.

I haven't tried to beta yet, bu if it's essentially the same as the existing site then I have an idea, more like a fix.

It seems to me like the "Hot Files" section is broken. It rarely updates and many of the updates don't seem like files that are too new or all that hot. As well the "most recently added files" method of organizing files seems to be broken as well, put it to whatever amount of days you want it seems to list the same files, and almost all of them are files that are WAY older than whatever date you put. For example right now if I put it to 1 day, supposedly files that have been added TODAY, i still get SKYUI, Wars In Skyrim, Tytanis, etc up at the top. I don't know exactly how these lists are organized but it seems to include updates and the download of those updates, which give an inaccurate representation of what are ACTUALLY the most popular NEW files.

If you compare this to the way the Steam Workshop organizes its files, you get a much better sense of whats new and popular. The "most recently added file" section should work just like their "Most Popular Today/This Week/This Month"

Also it would be nice if we could sort ALL files in the same way we can sort files within individual categories. For example if I go into the category "Abodes - Player Homes" I can sort by Upload Date, Last Update, Name, Uploader, File Size, Downloads, and Endorsements, and within those I can organize by ascending and descending order. I should be able to do the same but with ALL files.

For me the most important things needed are A) categorize by downloads/endorsements in the last XX days in an accurate way (not including update downloads) and B) organize ALL files by Endorsements/Downloads in ascending and descending order.

Otherwise this site is AWESOME. I so much prefer using Nexus over the Steam Workshop, however at the time being I find it easier to find cool new mods on Steam and then put them in a search here to see if I can use them through the Nexus, which is shouldn't be happening.

File mirror listings are not populated. Was that intentional?

I don't know, if this is the right thread, but i have a small suggestion regarding the trackingcenter. Right now it's possible to add mods to be tracked, as far as i understand that's an additional "tag" added to this mod in the database. Is it possible to add a feature/botton to "untrack" a mod? i think over time the tracking-list can grow quite large and become somewhat confusing.

One thing I have learned about this site in the Forum Log in area, reading about computer LAN stuff is; that in the Log In area is a switch I think should not have a tick mark in the box by it.

"Remember Me" is a choice people who sign in should have to add a tick mark too. Especially people who have a router with two or more computer's. The box next to, "Remember Me" should not be ticked unless they choose to have it ticked. It even says right next to and under it, "Not Recommended you are on a shared computer."

That mean's if you have a Mom and Pop computer/Brother's and Sister's Shared/Community Shared computer (one computer for all your friend's and they all have an account, "private account's on a Shared on one computer) UN TICK that box next to, "Remember Me?"

If they don't care if their router or Modem with Wired/Wireless Router unit's acts as transition point on their computer LAN set up it should not be ticked anyway.

I studied this because Robin, because on one occasion he told me to remove the tick mark when I log in.

Other sites i have visited have the box blank so the person may choose it if they understand what the, "Remember Me" function does.

Set the Forum and any other log in or Sign in function that has a "Remember Me" box visible, or not, turned off so it is up to the member's to choose it.

It says right next to and under, "Remember Me?" "Not Recommended for Shared Computer's." That mean's if you have one computer shared by each family member who all have their own personal account, UN Tick that Box next to, "Remember Me."

And that only goes to reason that if you have a router with several computers with other account's it would be best not to leave that box ticked, or as we like to call it in the U. S. of A. "Checked."

Un-check the box next to, "Remember me" if you have one computer with many users on the same machine.
