All i think windows 10 is spyware, so I'm sticking with 7 until i have to. Ryzen build in the future.

If you think that Win10 is spyware wait until you see how many Russian gangsters are looking in to see what you're up to on an unprotected Win7. Those issues with Win10 are easily resolved.

The "unprotected" part of your comment is relevant to security problems, not the "Win7" part. As mentioned security updates are being provided by MS for Win7 through 2020.

Also the spyware claim for Win 10 isn't even controversial, it's a known privacy obscenity and was built from the ground up as a data logger/miner. Its EULA is the first from MS that gives the company explicit rights to collect your every keystroke. Etc. If you think MS gave Win 10 away for free, keep thinking.

Debating what sort of a bastard MicroSoft is is not addressing the original poster's question about whether he should use Win7 or Win10 in the new machine that he is building. As such I am now leaving this thread for the rest of you mugs to fight it out. Ta'.

If you worried about windows 10 sending data back to Microsoft you know hardware firewalls work.

Personally the worse offenders are Google and your ISP towards your privacy.

Google you know place with most peoples email information that technicians likely have read when trouble shooting something.

That isn't even considering google searching for keywords in those emails which is all linked to you search results and google ad revenune which webpages you visit.

Should we even mention Chrome? or Phones/ Phone apps?

Privacy was given up long long time ago.

Microsoft is just being open about it.

My thoughts exactly. If people are actually concerned with privacy as much as they imply they are, they wouldn't even be on the internet. All of the information we provide on the internet, for our banking, credit cards, the things we buy, etc. are all being data mined on the daily. Nothing is actually private anymore. You literally have to live off the grid in the wilderness (free of all technology, living purely off of the land) to get any semblance of the privacy people seem so desperate for.

Microsoft added the data mining to Windows 7 so you're not in the clear with that.

The major difference is in that "added" part. Win 7's data mining can be easily avoided by steering clear of a few MS updates:

BTW note the hosting site for this page. :)

As long as a choice is still available I'll continue using Win 7.
