Don't fix something if it's not broken, the old one looked and worked just fine

I am leery of any new software change in the digital age because the changes usually only help the bean counters inject more commercialism (or collect more personal data). RIP old Nexusmods. You were once a pure, beautiful place for enthusiasts and artists to share their talents with a loving community that was uncorrupted by the evil smell of money.
moose109 wrote: Agree 100%. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

Having a slow and limited internet connection and the forced gallery of images make browsing the nexus a chore and not something I'll be doing nearly as often as I did.

No separate new files and tracked files a huge gallery of images, mostly skimpy in nature, being forced to load - and with no way to limit or turn them off(I mean, come on, who comes to the nexus to look at images).

The news tab is now a permanent feature, despite hardly ever being updated. And no quickely checking if any tracked files have been updated.

Another thing, being on a slower connection page tend to fail to load if they have a lot of images on them, and now not having a dedicated login page, I've only just managed to login to the nexus thanks to the ton of images loaded.

"Don't fix something that isn't broken."

They aren't trying to fix anything here, they are tying to improve it. Something doesn't have to be broken in order to be improved. The games we mod aren't necessarily broken, yet we improve them with mods. Should we just stop making mods that are things other than bug fixes? If we never tried to improve upon things unless they were broken in some way we would never see anything progress.

The current website layout feels very out-dated and doesn't utilize page space efficiently. The new website layout has some things that could be improved, but for the most part it is much better than the current design. Edited by Dziggy

I hate the new design so much and i hate you for creating it.
I hate you.

The people saying they don't like the new design should really try to offer the Nexus Mods staff some actual constructive feedback. Simply saying that you don't like it is pointless. How can they improve the things that people don't like if they have no idea what those things are?

Well, comments like this really don't do them any good. How are they supposed to improve the new layout if they have no idea what people dislike about it?

I really, really like the new design layout. No idea what everybody else is going on about. Everything's exactly where you'd expect it to be - the layout is effectively the same, except prettier and with fewer quirks. Viewing mod screenshots actually works without issue! Seriously, kudos for being able to keep the layout pretty much the same across the two designs.

You might want to put up a warning to anybody wanting to buy Premium during this time, however. I just bought a month of Premium a few days ago, and had I known the servers would be in maintenance mode for the next few weeks, I would have put off purchasing it until then. It's not a big deal for me, however, as I'm more than happy supporting a site that I've been using for years, but for others, it kind of defeats the purpose of the subscription.

Firstly :- I like the new tracking table layout.

Secondly :- On the old site I could see 5 "Hot Mods" and the 6 "Latest mods" and 1 "News items" without having to do anything. All that was there. Further brief information could be got by hovering over the latest mods picture or one of the hot mods pictures. New system, I get 7 'Hot Mods', but no hover over information on the smaller "hot mod" images and for the 5 "Latest Mods" pictures I can see only the top 3/4 of the image on the screen and there is no hover over information. For News I have to scroll way down. So the interface on the same setup is showing less immediate information. Is that right? or am I missing something important?

I am sure I will grow to like the new design in time, not that I dislike it. People are just resilient to change. If I remember correctly I have disliked every iteration of tesnexus at first, and when nexusmods rolled out I think I may have disliked that also. The new design is slick though and it scales very well on a 4K screen so I appreciate that. The single page design will also be great once I am used to it and know where everything is.

Thanks for all the hard work and continual site maintenance/file hosting. These site hubs have been my homepage for years! It is crazy to think I've been here for over a decade.

If everybody reasoned like you, we'd have a stone and a chisel in front of us, not a computer.

Is not a fix, but another step forward

Dziggy what are you smoking and can i have some of that sh. Bethesda games are famously VARY broken and the new layout utilizes page space more efficiently? It displays maybe 2/3 the content with the same space as before. The old layout was orgnised the new looks like a 12 year old randomly dumped things on the page.

Whats more why in Satan's name dose everything have to look modern? Can you even define what makes it look modern? That it's set up for mobile? because making a PC modding site mobile friendly is likes putting tits on a bull. This is not a tech company site trying to sell the most fancy cutting edge laser car, this is a mod site with tens of thousands on mods, organization is way more important the looking "modern".

Gez and I once thought Bethesda's site layout was bad. Edited by blackninja50
