Deleted32182785User
I just want to kind of get this out there. People need to stop viewing question threads and not replying. (I mean the cases where next to nobody responds but everybody views it). Now, I know that we can't stop all cases of this, but here's a true example you can find on these forums now. A forum user asked a question about whether or not their was a console command for something he wanted to do. He got over 1000 views and only one reply, excluding mine. That's just not ok, or at least I think so. So if you are able to answer a question that you find on these forums, please do. It makes the community better and you better for it. Happy holidays! Rabbit1251
Stop being ridiculous. No one is required to answer a poster's question. Most of us after viewing the post find that we don't know the answer to their question. Are we supposed to just post, "Sorry mate, don't know". Many people may have suffered a similar problem and are curious to see if the poster's question has been answered. If we knew the answer to their question it would have been answered to their satisfaction. The only way to know is to open the post and see. DarkRudra
Aside from what The Rabbit said, don't assume that all 1000 views were actually people. I'm not sure how this forum software counts this kind of thing, but some of those could have very easily been search engine bots (Google, Bing, etc) reading the page to index it. Deleted32182785User
Just something kind of bothering me. I know chances are, most people won't know the answer, and I know the view counter is kind of silly, but even so, chances are, someone will know. For example. 30 people view a topic. Chances are, at least one person would know the answer. Edit 1: That, and an argument Rabbit made in the first post, "many people have suffered a similar problem and are curious to see if the poster's question had been answered", is fair. I should have elaborated more in the first post, as I am talking only about the posts that have 0 replies. LeddBate
I view posts when the title says something I think I might be able to help with. However, when I read the thread and see it's beyond my knowledge/skill level, - I don't reply. I can think of nothing more useless than replying to a plea for help with: "Nope, can't help. Good luck." Because when the poster sees a reply, they think: "Oooh, someone answered. I'm getting help!" Then they see the useless reply. That's got to be a let-down. So bear in mind that some (perhaps a significant amount) of viewers are people that checked to see if they could help, then did the polite thing and didn't reply when they saw it was beyond their ability. Novem99
If I would always reply to all these mindless questions/requests here I would be banned in no time. That's why I prefer to say nothing.
Leadpipejustice
Hey Eagle, I was that guy asking and thanks for looking out. It was a surprise to see this post and have someone care enough to bring this up. Sometimes the questions we ask require a PHD doctorate in modding. To piggy-back off of what you said, helping others the best way you can makes a difference who knows... might help inspire some new interesting mods Also,to the wizards out there that basically make dreams come true, thank you!
