I haven't watched much SPN either(yet) but so long as he isn't some demigod--unless he's an actual demigod, that is--it should be fine. Welcome aboard! Maybe this will revive the RP a bit. I am just about onto season 5 personally, so I don't know what happens after, but as for that, I will edit my post to make it more... lore friendly, like a Trickster. The character sheets by the way has everything you need to know about our characters. All character sheets can be found in the first two pages of this thread.
