AugustaCalidia
I thought MO was complex but Vortex seems like a total wreck. MO is complex, but it was (and still is) a very fine mod manager. I used it and enjoyed it for several years. However, I now use Vortex because it embodies a number of the same features as MO, and I find it easier to set up and use. CptMudcrabIII
Hey dude, just read your complaint, and i'm glad that i'm not the only one. I went ahead to see if they still allow you to install NMM and they do, its just not supported by the Nexus team anymore, and is from what i can tell, a community thing now. Here's the link, https://www.nexusmods.com/site/mods/4/?tab=filesThere's also a GitHub version where the community is so if you want that as well here is the link https://github.com/Nexus-Mods/Nexus-Mod-Manager/releases Before you do anything get rid of everything related to Vortex, get rid of all the mods on there as well, just in case they clash.Hoped this helped ya, have a good one
Simbiose
I thought MO was complex but Vortex seems like a total wreck. Then you saw wrong. Are you wanting to figure them out yourself or are you following the proper tutorials to use Vortex? Because at it's current state Vortex has everything what Mod Organizer have and it's yet in beta stage... This means it will get much more updates in the future resulting in it being better than both NMM and MO2. NMM is outdated already. Mod Organizer 2 can also get outdated after the release of Starfield or TES 6. Edited January 7, 2019 by Simbiose
HadToRegister
I thought MO was complex but Vortex seems like a total wreck. So, you thought MO, (written by Tannin42),,was complex, but Vortex, (written by Tannin42) is a total wreck? If you understand how to use MO, you have an advantage over people who use NMM. rmm200
I have never seen Vortex have a problem detecting legally installed games.Well Origin occasionally has a bad habit of changing the executable name - but you can't blame Vortex for that.Sims 4 did the same thing when they dropped support for old Windows.Vortex has never had a problem detecting Skyrim or Skyrim SE. loxapjv
I don't know why my post was deleted, I guess Vortex is so amazing you can't even say it doesn't work, but it still doesn't manage to detect neither Skyrim nor Skyrim SE on my totally normal and up to date PC. So it does not work for me, even after a clean reinstall. Of course I can add the games manually and tell Vortex to acknowledge them but apparently it can't read them properly and I have to "play them first", which I did to no difference. Not to mention, as I said, that Vortex did not keep even one single of the many mods I had with Nexus Mods Manager. It can't detect Morrowind either, fun fact. Actually it can't detect anything, apart, from some reason, the Witcher 3 which I installed exactly like my other Steam games and which has basically the same location. Also, the "report a bug" feature is a joke... Edited February 10, 2020 by loxapjv
rmm200
The title of this topic is "How do I go back to NMM". That was answered. What is keeping you here? This forum is really for people who need help using Vortex. As a place to rant - not so much. Try Reddit?

You can't even start your own thread and post your problem properly, instead you hijack a thread and complain about something that isn't even related to the OP.Start your own thread and you'll get help. Most likely, you're ASSUMING that Vortex hasn't found your games, and you haven't gone to the GAMES tab, and looked at the UNMANAGED Tab and found your games IN COLOR, and clicked on MANAGE on each game. There's a reason there's a KNowledge Base and built in tutorials.
rasonage
So.... I thought this was a thread of how to go back to NMM and import all the mods to it like vortex had for importing mods from NMM to vortex...I don't suppose there's a thread of how to do that?
