how do you tell vortex to undo after you already told it to save on accident? it saved a bunch of files I deleted, now when I redeploy it does not reinstall the mods for the files I deleted... I want it to forget that I saved the change

You'll get better results by starting a new thread about your issue. You may find the following guidelines helpful in describing your problem: How to Request Vortex Support.

That's like asking a game to forget that you saved the game.

It can't happen, you committed it to saving the changes, you can't "undo" that.

But listen to Augusta and start your own thread first, for any further help.

not a great analogy for a mod manager managing files as opposed to loading a state in a game engine... way different... look all the mod's are in archives managed by vortex... yeah I deleted some files outside, it detected the change, I confirmed the change... so that means the app now has to remember that I have told it to eclude files it installed on deployments now... it needed to save this information somewhere to now act the way I told it to... so now I cant get back to a dialog where I undo that specific change... I nah I don't buy your analogy... it's a missing feature simple as that, good day

Well, all I was doing was trying to explain it in terms that everybody can understand, then I, like Augusta suggested, told you to start your own thread on the matter.

Not sure why you got so offended, and responded in a hostile manner, but...here goes...

No, it's NOT missing a feature, you picked the wrong choice and want to blame Vortex for it.

There are even warnings on the window that pops up warning you what will be the consequences of your choices.

You either didn't read them, or decided to ignore the warning and chose the wrong choice.

You can blame Vortex all you want, but 95% of the problems people have with Vortex are User Error, but they blame Vortex anyway, and claim it's "Missing Features" or "Bugs"
