Brotherhood is right!

In trying to make realistic decisions in this game I can only side with The Institute. Not so much for what they are but for what they can be. They are the only faction with the potential to reclaim the wasteland and return it to the modern world I grew up in. There is no way I could come out of that vault into a dilapidated crumbling rust-bucket of a world full of dangerous ugly people who smell bad... and yet not choose The Institute.

I may not agree with Shaun's tunnel vision for the future, but he's still my boy and I'm damned proud of him, and his mom would be too if she were alive today. He done good. And, and, he's turning it all over to me to do with as I please. Somewhere deep down inside Shaun understands, when he says The Institute doesn't need another scientist, it needs leadership, and I am that leader.

My synth army will pacify and protect the people of the Commonwealth, guard the trade routs, hunt down the raiders, educate the railroad on the merits of peaceful protest, and if they don't take to that I'll put them to work building actual railroads. And my minutemen will continue to provide a social conscience and a people's army in the reformed republic. The good people of the Commonwealth will have a chance to rebuild without fear, a chance for a change of clothes once in a while, and maybe not have to sleep with their boots on and then we can work on getting rid of that horrible smell.

And the BoS? A dangerous adversary that stands in the way of progress while offering nothing that would benefit the future of humanity. I would offer them amnesty and an opportunity to serve with the minutemen, and those who refused I would hang from the Prydwen.

When you can trust no one, trust in yourself.

Great fantasy. But wrong. Both BoS and the Institute is kinda techno fashists.

BoS doesn't care about people. They send you to rip people's food from their mouths.

And the Institute?Just listen to X6.

Quote:"Its better that surface dwellers die out".

No they both wrong. If it was possible to eradicate both BoS leadership and Institute leaders and take over.

Truly take over.Make BoS run missions to exterminate supermuts and ferals and make institute share tech to improve the Commonwealth........

i joined BoS once, and that was this week, i have had the game since late last year, they are beyond any shadow of a doubt a bunch of loony tunes, if you listen to maxson.. even for 5 mins you will end up being as delusional as he is.. it was to the point i wanted to shoot him myself right there and then..

The BoS says they're there to defeat the institute but then stay to fight mutants and ghouls. In fact they're expanding their footprint outside of the capital wasteland. The prydwen was a massive resource sink and now they need to tap new sources of stuff and apparently food since they cant seem to resupply themselves from home.

The Institute says they're just expanding science to save mankind but they haven't even provided a single gas generator to the outside world. In fact their old synths keep scavenging the commonwealth for parts. You have to wonder what will happen when they scavenge the last toaster, camera, or desk fan in the wild and have to turn to obvious sources like goodneighbor or diamond city for more parts.

The railroad wants to smuggle synths out of the commonwealth to some unknown paradise for synths but when they find out about acadia all they can spare is one agent. Doesn't really make sense.

The minutemen are running round killing mutants and raiders but have no ideas about setting up a government. They're all about frontier justice.

Honestly the only one that has an eye to the future is Hancock

Best reasons to side against the brotherhood, Elder Maxson's coat is a nice addition to my clothing collection, and watching the Prydwen crash and burn is epic.

The whole game is so pointless really and the long list of threads going this deep into the terrible writing in this game are a big sign that we need a new game to play that doesn't suffer from terrible writing. Bethesda is just too slow at making games and I think their focus is on something else now anyway like convincing a bunch of people to fork over cash for loot boxes. The only hope we have left of anything related to this game but perhaps newish to play is fallout 4 new vegas mod and we really don't know what the status of that is right now. The wait for that mod might be years or more and in the meantime what to play?

Check out the mods Depravty and Project Valktye. (Maybe Fusion City and Outcasts and Remnants to make it really interesting). As most of you seem to be, I've become bored with the factions in Fallout 4 and needed something different. These 4, 3 or even just 2, mods gave me a completely different way to play a game that I can't seem to put down, even for all it's shortcomings.

Some will say,"But it's not really Fallout 4 anymore". OK, Maybe. But let's face it - even if we play it 4 times to check out each faction, Fallout 4 doesn't really have much replay value without mods.

BoS: Only concerned about themselves, and gathering tech, so that 'others' won't 'abuse' it. They are not helping the people of the commonwealth.

Institute: Only concerned about themselves, and have no interest at all in the people 'on the surface'. They use them as pawns, and subjects for their experiments. They are not helping the people of the commonwealth. Even if you take over, their attitudes aren't going to change overnight. It will take generations to get them all on the same page of helping the people on the surface.

Railroad: "Help" synths by essentially killing them, and giving them new identities. So far as I am concerned, if you can simply reprogram something, it doesn't qualify as 'a person'.

Minutemen: These guys actually want to help the people of the commonwealth. Setting up settlements, clearing out bad guys, defending the folks that can't defend themselves. They may not have a clue about setting up a government, but, that isn't their primary aim.
