SirGalahad
Just leave her at 81? Her being mute just reminds me of what she should have been but was not. Better to leave her at 81? Even at 88, her dialogue is a mess, correct?

Thank you, jkruse05! I didn't have a problem getting her brother off drugs or convincing her to leave the vault and go to one of my settlements. All that worked (with a LOT of Quick Loads). But having her at a settlement and never saying a single word freaked me out. Someone over at Bethesda really dropped the ball on this particular quest. Thanks for the mod recommendation—I had no idea it was out there! Since I took an arrow to the knee—I mean, got bit by one of those diseased mole rats—I have to repeat everything in 81, anyway, so the mod is almost a present for the extra work! JimmyRJump
I never had a problem with Tina. Not with her dialogue and not to recruit her. I've sent her to Sanctuary thrice and to two other locations which I can't recall and on every occasion I put her to work and that was that. She does not speak after leaving the vault, and it is unsettling. She might have trader dialogue? The wiki reports that as non-functional, as well. It appears she was intended to go to Vault 88 as a trader, and would have specific interactions relative to 88, but some of the voice work wasn't completed or added in. I guess I was into the story line and noticed something went wrong, as you might notice if an acquaintance suddenly stopped talking to you one day. Well, all my previous encounters with Tina happened before I "discovered" Vault 88. I only went into Vault 88 on one occasion and didn't like the content, so, I never went back there in my later games. I have discovered Vault 88 not long ago in my current play-through (22 days in already) but haven't been to Vault 81 yet, so I'm gonna pay attention to what happens, Tina's dialogue in particular... metaphorset
Ahhh, Tina. She's a perfect example of the quality work BGS delivers in their games. On my first try to finishing the game I managed to mess up the quest (which wasn't really that hard, just go to the medic and talk to her before Bobby arrives and boom! - she bugs out. And that's just one way to mess her up) but I didn't even realize it. I guess I was just so used to hearing Trudy saying the same two lines over and over and over again that I just assumed it's one of the typical "we couldn't care less" moments we all love so much in their games. On my new playthr.. uhm... try (I guess?) I also use the "You talk too much" mod, but even then it's very noticeable that she is completely mute.
