Daggdag
There have been rumors for years of an Elder Scrolls movie/movie series. I want to know what people would like to see in a ES movie, and who they think should play in it. Personally, I think it would need to be an orignal story that has no direct connections to any of the games. This way, the writers would have a lot of creative freedom and not be bound to specific storyline.
PsxMeUP
I think there are many other fantasy games more deserving of a movie than TES, like a decent Dungeons & Dragons movie. And in the D&D world you have entire worlds to choose from, not just continents.
marciosilva
Would be fun to see a Skyrim-based movie. Dragons, and the legionaires vs stormcloaks... Very interesting
Rastafariel
They have their hands full with Elder Scrolls Online. Seriously, I'm torn about this - as Im sure many die-hard fans are.... I fear it will be another SW:tor disaster catering to solo play. If I wanted solo play I would stick to my sandbox games like FNV, F3, Oblivion, MW, Skyrim etc. if its going to be online ffs, make it a group game online with RP! You remember when the games used to be called CRPGs and stuff... you know... the role-playing part of it....? But I think that ship has sailed according to modern marketing gods. shuriken88
Sorry to play the cynic, but an ES movie would be an instant flop. Guaranteed. Can anybody honestly list even 4 examples of "game-movie cash-ins" that were anything BUT utter sh*te lol (in terms of quality of production, skill of direction, acting & cinematography, NOT personal movie tastes)? I doubt it. It'd be doomed from the start. I heard Uwe Boll was planning to make it, but I already paid for his assassination last week. Good "movie cash ins" are as rare as a hardcore porn shop in the Vatican city. Edited May 8, 2012 by shuriken88
JesterKing
Fantasy movies are hard to make. Just like fantasy rpgs. By making a fantasy movie or game you immediately alienate a large portion of the possible populace because most people in the world are not interested in fantasy. Next you have to make it long to explain the fantasy's universe. LoTR was 3 books and movies, Harry Potter was 7, Star Wars was 6, Mass effect was 3. Skyrim would take 3 movies imho. Next they are expensive. LoTR was the most expensive movie project at that time. I think that Skyrim's story is best as a game. Where I'm the lead role, director and writer. bpestilence
It would never work. Remember back when several studios were setting the groundwork for a HALO movie? Did that ever pan out? No, they made a GI JOE movie instead because they thought they could cash in on a larger fan base. And HALO has a much larger fan base than TES, with almost a dozen spin-off books, tons of online gaming support, and many sequels. Illiad86
Never works. Video game movies always suck (which the exception of Silent Hill, I thought it was pretty good). Last one I saw was one based of Dungeon Siege, took all my will to watch it all the way through. Uwe Boll is a terrible director, don't understand why they always pick him to make video game movies...
Glhadiator
hmmm.... Cosidering past video game movie success beth would be better off if they avoided that pitfall. Odds are it would come up snake eyes :nuke: Too bad tho', some good roles for female heroes. Ya gotta love those!
SubjectProphet
TES is like CODMW, they need a movie following the whole series. COD MW series was set up in a cinematic way and would be perfect for a movie. Same with TES, start with Arena, Daggerfall, Redguard, Battlespire, Morrowind, Oblivion, then finish with Skyrim. (Combine Arena and Daggerfall; Redguard and Battlespire; Morrowind and end with a cliffhanger for the first half of Oblivion, end Oblivion and Skyrim)
