Dealing with "Missing Masters," dark face, and other problems?

OK, I've downloaded a large number of mods and want to clean things up. Is there any special Vortex feature to handle the "dark face" bug problem? It seems to strike bandits and children.

 

Also, I have the "Missing Masters" error window pop-up but am not sure how to respond to it. Should I start disabling ESPs or what?

 

Is there any way to check for inappropriate patches? By that, I mean patches that cover mods not loaded.

 

Any special diagnostics I should run?

I can't help you with the dark face problem, but in my experience, I get the Missing Masters message when I either a) inadvertently uninstall a mod that another requires or b) install a mod that requires a mod that isn't installed (download the incorrect version of a mod, for instance)

For one, click on the Missing Master popup, it will tell you which mod(s) is missing it's Master(s), and it will tell you what the Master should be.

 

"Dark Face" problem in WHICH game?

For Dark Face, we are talking about Skyrim.

 

I have clicked on the "Missing Masters" pop-up, but sometimes the info isn't clear although I did manage to get rid of it after uninstalling some mods.

 

Aside from the Dark Face problem, I have found plugins that don't seem to connect to any mods. For example, I recently ditched all my Bruma-related mods but still find the "RSChildrenPatch - BS Bruma.esp" in my plugin section. Although disabled, it still seems to count toward the plugin limit and I have no idea how to get rid of it. Any way to get rid of it without finding what mod installed it?
