CTD When placing Generator in Sunshine

Ever since the first time I tried to place a fusion generator at Sunshine Trading Co-op, anytime I place a generator (any type of generator) there I get a crash to desktop. I have tried avoiding going back, but it keeps coming under attack, not having enough water, and not growing because there is not enough power for the recruitment beacon.

I have sim settlements installed, and they are not building any generators to power what is being built either. I'm not sure what to do, this is the only problem I've encountered that I can not find a work around for.

Well if you used a Sim Settlements building plan there, unless you know how the plan is laid out adding anything to it does create issues. You should go to the City Planners Desk and choose the option reset settlement or reset plan. If your going to have people build for you using Rise of the Commonwealth you need to just leave them alone, give them scrap-food-water-armor-weapons through the donate function; giving them armor and weapons this way destroys those items, however it gives an armory bonus which adds to your settlement defense.

Also giving your settlements nice upgraded gear will help them fend off attacks more often, just don't give them grenades. I always give them a melee weapon, a sidearm and either a auto-fire weapon or a sniper weapon. If you give guards scoped weapons, and your civies shotguns and SMGs you should do fine. Give them decent armor too, this is beyond the donate function.

In the future try not to alter the build plan without knowing how things are going to be placed, I believe you can also speed up the time it takes to upgrade stuff and the ability for the city to upgrade without you seeing it first in the settings in the sim holotape.

you can try the console command i give you below but be WARNED, the ONLY thing that will be left is the workshop

open the console and type

scrapall

then hit enter

then fast travel away and stay away for a minimum of 3 days, this resets the cell, thereby resetting the nav meshes

i know this has worked for me in the past

NOTE: don't ever do this at Graygarden, i learned the hard way it also scraps the robots lol :P

Probably would be disasterous in the Mechanists Lair lol

I tried donating the supplies to have them build generators, and they never did. I'll try resetting at the desk.

you're going to have to load a previous save before the lockup, hopefully, you don't make the same mistake i've seen other people do by saving over their old saves

once you get it to load the settlement, try this

activate the build menu ( workshop mode )

find a corner or spot that is furthest away from the workshop

crouch down and sneak and then look at the ground, exit the build mode then

use the console command to scrapall

wait a few seconds, then save. The reason you do it this way is because with your character looking at the ground, there is FAR less for the video card to render in.

fast travel away and wait a few days then try going back and see if it's stable

That is the thing, after the CTD I did load an old save that I used before I tried to reset the settlement. I have a feeling that for this playthrough, that settlement is just unplayable for me now. I don't even have to enter the settlement for it to lock up, I think all it needs to be is loaded for it to happen.

i checked the console commands on the wiki, there's no way to reset it that i could find. I was going to suggest that as a last resort

I will say this, multiple people are having major problems with that building plan mod, it seems to be full of bugs

That is the funny thing. I added items like generators and turrets to almost every other settlement, but that is the only one I'm having trouble on, it is also the only one that I tried to add the fusion generator too. It is also a problem that I'm having with Diamond City and Goodneighbor, at least if I fast travel to them.
