Elder Scrolls 6 wishlist

It doesn't appear that there's a pinned thread for Elder Scrolls 6 speculation and discussion. I at the very least haven't found one yet. If there is one, feel free to merge this topic with that one.

Anyway, I have started a video series on my youtube channel where I discuss what I would like in Elder Scrolls 6. Part 1 of that series can be found here, if you're interested:

The return of the attributes/skills system.

To be nothing but better than Skyrim.

The main quest to actually have canonical properties, and not "uncertain outcomes" like Season Unending/Diplomatic Immunity, etc.

The werewolf form to be similar to Skyrim's or better.

--Being a werewolf to be as equally developed as vampire, with a full story line and all. No "companions" rubbish.

Magic to be better and more varied.

The playable area to be bigger, or at least the same size as Skyrim. Just please don't make it smaller.

To be honest I could list many things, but that could take a long while so I won't. I'd like them to make the guild quests take longer to reach the top, so that you feel more like you earned it and didn't just get it because Bethesda created really short quest lines. I want to see improved combat mechanics and have more variations of combat, like martial arts being one example. I'd also like to see more dynamic dungeon and world exploration options, like the ability to actually climb like you can in tomb raider, not just run up a mountain side as far as you can and attempt to try and jump to a higher level. I think that could work for inside and outside dungeons. You could have a cave but to access it you have to climb to the top and enter from there, then you would have to scale down or even dive into water if it's partly submerged. You could even enter a cave/dungeon through an underwater entrance and then maybe have to climb up to a higher level.

The main things in my opinion.

1) No load screens in game of any kind.

2) Fluid Combat or all classes and builds.

3) A gripping main quest storyline that's engaging with the characters and interactive with some the other games minor quest lines.

4) No hand held story time features. Its an RPG. Let it play like an RPG. Hand holding is not allowed! And no features that a 3 year old can do. In what should be an adult game. And stay lore friendly. No Compromises on that Bethesda. Stay true to the original concept that made the earlier games great.

But this is Bethesda. So don't hold your breath.

I'd like to see:

1) Allow you to cross back and forth with Skyrim.

PROS: Great for huge play-throughs. Since TESVI will most likely be sometime in the future, the main-quest in TESV should not be available. But there's no reason not to have most everything else.

CONS: Pretty sure the game engines will be different, so there'd have to be one heluva long loading screen as the TESVI boots up your TESV and then deposits your character at whatever border you're at. This one would probably be too complex to implement (and therefore not worth Bethesda's time) -but I can dream...

2) Co-op.

PROS: No, seriously. This CAN be done and would be a blast for you and a buddy to jump into the game together. I can't remember the name of the mod, but there was one for LE right here on the Nexus that would let you and a friend jump right into Skyrim together utilizing a split screen setup. There were/are a lot of limitations with the mod, of course. I think you both had to stay in the same general area while outdoors if I remember correctly. But the fact that some modders could do this much means that it WOULD be possible.

CONS: Bethesda probably wouldn't like it because it means that two people can play with one purchase. Of course, Bethesda can get around this limitation by offering co-op through the Creation Club. It would have to be very expensive in terms of credits to make it worth their while. Probably a minimum of 3000. But even if they were willing, there would probably still be a lot of technical issues to overcome. Probably too many for Bethesda to consider it.

3) Lots of built in "activity" animations. (Sandboxing and manual.)

PROS: I would love to be able to "sandbox" as good as many NPCs seem to be able to. (and that's before adding mods like FNIS.) Manual "activities" such as the ability to sit anywhere instead of in just designated chairs and the ability to pick up a book and read it anywhere in 3rd person would be great for an "immersion" point of view. I know there's mods to do all this and more. I'd just like to see it as part of the base game.

CONS: Since the mods to do all this seem quite involved, I don't know if Bethesda would be willing to expend the effort.

Classes. Attributes. Fixed Birthsigns. Real advantages and disadvantages to choosing one race over the other. Less but more meaningful perks. Make speechcraft actually useful in that it provides alternate ways to solve a quest. Also not just "kill stuffz", "kill moar stuffz", "kill even moar stuffz", "oh and fetch me that staff while you are at it" quests.

Here's some I want.

-1. A talent system that relies on the completion of challenges. Think of it as an extension or development of the Skyrim system.

You still increase your skill by doing that skill, but you apply the principle to the acquisition of perks as well. Instead of just picking a random perk within a tree when you level up, you automatically gain certain perks when you do certain actions enough times.

For example, I want to specialise in blades. In vanilla Skyrim, you kill a bunch of people with any one handed weapon, then you pick the bladesman perks on level up. In the new system, You would have to kill a bunch of people specifically with a sword and then you gain the perk automatically after a while.

-2. A Magic system that is more powerful and varied but retains the minimalism of Skyrim.

For example, bring back spell effects like Feather and Burden, Reflect and Absorb Skills and Attributes, integrate magic effects from Shouts and turn them into spells. Add new effects, such as a telekinesis branch, push, pull, vortex etc.

However, don't clutter up my spellbook with multiple tiers of the same spell, instead have one version of the spell that you can level up with usage and experience.

-3. A non-stupid vampire system.

Really, feeding makes you weaker? Whoever invented that system needs a slap.

I've used Better Vampires by Brehanin ever since I first saw it, never looked back.

-4. Multiple appearances for the same piece of armour, depending on the manufacturer or style. For variation.

-5. More fleshed out weapon and armour system. Reintroduce old favourites like Chainmail, Mithril, Adamantium. Give us more complete weapon sets, in skyrim there are only silver swords and greatswords, where did the axes, battleaxes, maces and warhammers go? What if I meet a vampire wearing a suit of ebony?

-6. Intelligent follower AI.

Allow them to use illusion spells for crowd control against opponents or to bolster you and your allies. Allow them to cast healing, utility and protection spells on you as well as themselves. Let them cast and use bound weapons.

Also, let them pick locks and pockets for you, or execute stealth attacks. This isn't a pipe dream; brilliant modders have already achieved this in Skyrim.

For starters:

I want it to be a true role playing game (which I guess Skyrim kinda is but....) where the player can choose which path they want for their particular character and aren't boxed into very many decisions. And these decisions need to have an impact of the game. Certain quest need to be forgone only to open up entirely new story lines.

NPCs need to act dynamically to your station, title, and role.

Variety in armor and weapons of the same type

Reworked alchemy, crafting, and forging

I'd like the character not to have speaking roles but for ALL other NPCs to be voiced with custom voices.
