Settlement Object Expansion Pack, the Mod is installed 2 months ago, the Mod ID is correct, however, it's showing up as Uninstalled, in the MODS tab with a title of RobcoFun2 https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/10075

DOOMBASED Weapons Merged, the mod isn't installed, the Mod ID is correct, however, it's showing up in the MODS tab as RobcoFun2 https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/16387

FO4 War Tags, the mod is installed, the Mod ID is correct, however, it's showing as Uninstalled, in the MODS tab with a title of RobcoFun2 https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/17103

Raider Overhaul Restored Content, the mod is uninstalled, shows up as RobcoFun2 https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/17895

OK, as I was doing this and copying down the mods, I noticed that I can keep creating RobcoFun2 named mods, just by clicking on any of the other incorrectly titled RobcoFun2 mods, and clicking on GUESS ID, which causes another RobcoFun2 mod entry to be created, and when clicking on GUESS ID, another is created and so on, and all of these are randomly getting assigned it mods that I already have installed, along with the ones that I don't have installed.

So, if I have a mod installed, I will have the properly name mod entry, showing it's installed, and I will also have the "RobcoFun2" titled mod showing up as uninstalled or never installed.

However, if I delete the "RobcoFun2" mods, then Vortex deletes the properly installed and named mod as well.

I.E.

RobcoFun2 = Settlement Object Expansion pack mod ID: 10075 - showing as uninstalled

Settlement Object Expansion Pack mod ID: 10075 showing as Installed

If I use Vortex to delete the uninstalled "RobcoFun2" mod ID: 10075, it also deletes Settlement Object Expansion pack.

I don't even know what RobcoFun2 is, as I've never downloaded it

RobcoFun2 1.0.0

*UPDATE*

Every time I try to delete the last RobcoFun2, another entry is created

Ok, I've investigated and I have a some idea what's happening.

A few things to know:

- RobcoFun2 is the misc file of this mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/31543?tab=files . The reason this file is special is because it's empty, 0 bytes size

- Vortex tries to look up mod meta information for a file based on the md5 hash of the file, so we have at least some information even when the nexus mod id is unknown. Obviously the md5 hash for any empty file will match RobcoFun2 (there is actually around a dozen of other mods also with empty files that would all match that md5 hash, it's pure chance that it picked RobcoFun2)

So: If you create an empty file in your download directory - independent of the name that file will show as RobcoFun2

But this is the only way I have been able to reproduce this - and it's not actually a bug in Vortex because based on content your file on disk does match RobcoFun2. ;)

However I don't see how clicking the Guess button could have anything to do with that, guessing the id only changes meta information on that specific mod, it can't create a new one. Can you think of anything that could cause your system to create empty files in the download dir?
Also: When an uninstalled/never installed mod shows up in mods there has to be a matching entry in the Downloads tab, probably with a size of 0 or "???". On that list, could you enable both the columns "Filename" and "Name" and find the filenames corresponding to the "Name" RobcoFun2? Do these ring any bells?

This started happening back with 0.15.X versions

Back when Vortex was making double entries in the Mod tab.

I chose to ignore it because it was randomly renaming my already installed mods, and every attempt to remove it, caused other mods to adopt the "RobcoFun2" name

Thanks for the explanation though, now I understand how it made its way into my Mod Tab

However, I did manage to get rid of all traces of RobcoFun2 yesterday, I was going to post this yesterday, along with the original post in the feedback section, but decided not to clutter things up.

-OK-

After having Vortex remove these erroneous RobcoFun2 entries, I got to the last one, clicked on Remove, and a new RobocoFun2 entry appeared.

It always shows up as "RobcoFun2 1.0.0

If I click on the version drop down menu, I get a long list (26+ entries) of "1.0.0" version entries (I can't scroll farther than that)

OK, live updating this entry as I'm doing it in Vortex.

Alright, so, I decided to use that white CANCEL button with the line through it, to close down all of the version 1.0.0 options showing up in the Version drop down menu for RobcoFun2

All of the versions went away as I cancelled them, except for one entry where I cancelled the version 1.0.0 and Vortex proceeded to Install "FO4 Seasons Spring", which I promptly uninstalled and removed.

After cancelling/deleting every single 1.0.0 entry in the Version Drop down for "RobcoFun2", I was actually able to remove RobcoFun2 from my Mod Tab.
