Sound the area is not registered as "open" more than into the "border" limit in the .ini.

Guess you could ask the modder from "Nyhus and the border Cyrodiil-Morrowind" since he made a "cross border" mod who seem to be functional as far I know.

In any case, Rochebere is still ongoing and that is quite a good news, still checking from time to time, Release when it is done = more than alright (of course).

(As to timeframe, it is almost a 'golden' rule, as it is 'only' to remind us that we are not in "total" control (which is quite an perspective and preparation topic).

I've deduced that the problem is something to do with the LOD (which I've never had a problem with before). All of a sudden, the worldspace only loads directly from the menu if there is no LOD, or if there is only one type if LOD (I.e. statics or land).
I think I've managed to sort out this problem now. It still seems a little bit temperamental, but I guess I'll know for sure when I have people testing the mod.

Interesting mod looking forward to it!

Awesome, glad my work caught your attention!

I am looking forward to this. I am guessing it will not override existing areas of the game and will open up a new part of the map?

The new areas the mod adds would be far to large to add anywhere in the vanilla Skyrim map and actually look right. Rochebere Valley, where the mod takes place, is in it's own worldspace with a custom World Map and LOD etc.

Where abouts in Skyrim is this? (Like the actual map location?)

And where are the propaganda assets from? I would like them for my mod if they are generic enough :D

This looks great and I'm looking forward to it. I found this mod via a decently old Brodual vid and I'm glad to see your still working on it.

Yeah I'm still working on this, albeit slowly with work, college and real life going on, but yeah it's still very much alive. Brodual will be getting the early copy which I plan to have to them by the end of the month, so keep your eyes peeled on their channel for that!

I can't wait for this mod. When is to be released?

I don't really have a release frame, sorry! This is one of those 'it will be done when it's done' kind of projects.

I love this mod, but will it be released on steam? for some reason my game only lets me download from nexus or steam, and I have all the DLC's which are technically mods. hoping so hard it will be released on steam, super excited for the mod!

Rochebere will definitely be on the Nexus, and maybe ModDB as well, but if I don't upload it there then it will be a Nexus exclusive. I don't think I'll be able to upload it to the workshop due to the size of the mod, not to mention the fact that I've never really likes using the workshop. Just my personal opinion of course though!

Well in terms of geography Rochebere Valley is located on the borders of Skyrim, Cyrodiil and Hammerfell, but in the technical side of things, it is in a completely separate worldspace with a custom map like the ones you've seen with Solstheim, Falskaar and Wyrmstooth. Oh, and I actually made the propaganda posters myself, so there's no resource for them! ;)

  • 3 weeks later...

Hey everyone! It's been a pretty long time since I last made any news on Rochebere hasn't it? Well thankfully I can assure you I am still working on the mod to the best of my abilities. Now that the Summer is over I'm back to college 5 days a week and working both Saturday and Sunday, so free time is a bit of an issue, but nevertheless you'll be pleased to hear that most of my free time that isn't being used for my social life or to do coursework outside of college is going into Rochebere.

The first thing I'll let you know about in this post is the custom music of Rochebere. Last year I spoke to composer Jacob Lake who organised some music for me to use in the mod. These tracks encompassed the main city regions; the Central, Residential and Outskirts' districts. In August this year I began collaborating with León van der Stadt, who also composed the music for the popular mods 'Wyrmstooth' and 'Undeath', to bring music to the rest of Rochebere. This includes combat and exploration music, as well as unique tracks for each and every Dungeon, Tavern and Landmark. Pretty cool, right?

Secondly, I've decided to reveal something rather special to all you due to my long absence from the thread. Below are two pictures of the map of Rochebere Valley, one being a lore-friendly map texture that is used in the mod itself, and the other a screenshot of the custom world map. I've put the images as spoilers since I have a feeling quite a few people may want to wait and experience this first hand. It's entirely opinion based as to whether or not you want to view the pictures, I won't judge you on your choice, honest!

Thanks for reading everyone, hopefully it won't be this long until the next update!

What DLC's if any will this require?

No DLC's are required. As long as you have a legitimate copy of Skyrim with the latest update then you're good to go.
