krongfah
So I know you aren't supposed to run Vortex as an administrator, but I'm using an admin account so I cannot run any program as a "regular user", only as admin. Or at least I don't know if I can. Is there anyway to run programs as regular user and opposed to admin? Also, for some reason I cannot create a new account on my PC, so I don't think it's an option to create a new user account on Windows, plus if I could, I'd have to basically figure out how to move my files from admin to regular account. HadToRegister
I'm an admin on my comp, using an admin account and I can run programs as both.Strange that an Admin can't create another account on the PC, that's who has permission to do so. Tannin42
An "admin account" on windows usually still acts in the "role" of a regular user, but can "elevate" its right to "admin" if necessary. So _usually_ you're ok running applications with that account, they are still restricted in a sensible way. Unless you have also disabled User Access Control (UAC) in which case everything is run with admin rights all the time. This is a very bad idea for everyone, everywhere at every time. Why MS even offers the option is a mystery to me.I'd advice enabling UAC in this case but if you don't want to it doesn't matter anyway, Vortex isn't your primary problem then. Vortex always gives me the warning that I’m running it as an admin

When I press the button to create an account it should took me to the menu to create a new one but instead it just say something along the line of this not being available to do on this version of Windows. sores
Yes, I have this "issue" I have not set the program to run as admin from Win 10 compatibility settings and Vortex still gives me this "error". I have UAC settings at default 2nd from highest and I still have this popup. From what I see the only real solution is to create a 2nd regular user and run vortex from there and switch back to the main user to play the game. This is unrealistic and seems like a major bug. Please let me know if missing something.
ubronan
I have this issue as well, the fact that vortex seems to detect an admin account does not mean its allowed to run at that levelHowever it keeps whining about being running as admin.I have checked every possible reason for acting so weird but could not find any wrong setting, no extra privileges or rights are given
OH72
I have the same problem at the moment with a freshly set-up windows 10. Used to be able to run Vortex in the previous installation. Due to a hard disk wipe, I had to reinstall everything, and now Vortex complains about having Admin rights, even though neither the installation was run as admin nor Vortex itself.
